Re: the whole beer thing. there are several of us who don't drink the brand because we've their beer sucks. I haven't had a AB product since they've been owned by a company based in Belgium and Germany. i'm also old enough to remember when you went to an AB owned amusement park. Now it's part of a multi national corp and their parks are over priced and substandard. I guess to the MAGA's of the world who love to get gouged on very expensive roller coasters and watery beer that's woke

Agree wholeheartedly with the above. To me one of the joys of living where I do near Colonial Williamsburg, Va is the effort the Foundation has made in recent years to tell all sides of the story leading up to the Revolution. The fact that blacks made up a little more than 50% of the population and free blacks were about half of that. Not to mention insight into the paradox of wanting to break bonds with England while holding on to the institution of slavery. Not to mention the cost both socially and monetarily of attempting to free the slaves. It's been a whole new education experience for me, somewhat on the level of an advanced Early American history class. People haven't changed over the nearly 400 years of our history.

At best RD may be telling a 1/4 truth. While true many slaves learned "valuable trades" (John Hemmings, Sally's half brother, became a master Joiner training under white master craftsmen) they were still slaves. There was no way they could go out on their own to obtain jobs. Most likely they were "rented out" to other farms and plantations and their masters reaped the riches of their training. Not to mention separating workers from their families for months at a time. Even after slaves were emancipated, a free black finding a decent paying job in a white man's world was fairly unlikely. Heck, even into the 70s and 80s minorities usually received second class wages. I highly doubt the "anti-woke" crowd wants to see this taught in their schools because their privileged white kids would feel bad.

Mackinac is a nice place to visit for a day or two. That said at one time my wife's job had her up there every year for 15 plus year for the Detroit Region Chamber of Commerce shindig. I tagged along for a few years and helped out a bit. The problem was after you've biked the island several times, had lunch and bought some fudge there really wasn't much to do for the other 3 days. If they booked her at the Grand, you couldn't enjoy the porch because inevitably you'd end up encroaching on some bigwig's meeting with another mover and shaker. i just got to the point of saying "have fun and bring back some fudge"

Reminiscent of being taught that slaves loved to sing and dance and adored their masters (Virginia fourth and seventh grade social studies)

Tony Bennett, may he find peace. I came to appreciate his music later in life. He was always there but he represented my parents music. Then I became my parents, and somewhere along the way the music of the 90s and later just didn't appeal to me in general. I still listened and enjoyed a bit but kept returning to the "old guys". I think it was when he started releasing his "duets" album that it struck me...this guy is really good and I started to do do a deeper dive. Really some good classic stuff. One of my favorites with Bill Evans

He's not from a "small town". He grew up shuttling between Macon, Ga and Homestead, FL, neither city meet what I consider "small town" criteria. He hasn't even written anything he sings that sells. How can you call yourself a country artist if you can't write a damn hit. I haven't listened either but I think I can assure you it ain't Okie From Muskogee...or even Harper Valley PTA which to me does signify small town attitudes and "charms" He's just another money grabbing grifter.

Meanwhile the state has lost about $200 Mil in Russian investments that Ronnie D won't talk about...

What was really funny about that time period was the guy jumped all over me for giving notice while he was on his month long vacation accusing me of being disloyal (my wife received a good job offer and it proved to be a better relationship situation for us) I found out later he sold the station a month after I left.

Last time I was conned with a answer like that was at a job interview where the boss told me I was getting his old client list only to find out later that 2/3 of the accounts were on trade and I got nothing for servicing them and the rest of the accounts had 4 other people on them in the year or so before I came in. In other words I learned over 40 years ago never to believe a con man. Especially one who has proved it over and over.

From what I've read from the FED website, it seems like an agreement between member banks to expedite payments between two parties. There is no real explanation about how it would work in real life. There is to be no app. Just an agreement of sorts between participating banks https://www.frbservices.org/financial-services/fednow/about.html

IDK, he seems like a nice guy...

They can keep him

Joe Big Coal needs what he is to get elected. Just like every other politician. If I lived in White Sulfur Springs, WVa, I'd probably vote for him over some bible quoting, false profit Trump lover. That's life, stop making everything black and white.
-
Manchin is a conservative Democrat, or what we used to call Blue Dogs. He's also a Big Business guy who used to run a coal company. And a life long politician who will talk out of both sides of his mouth to get re-elected. Another 75 year old running for office. Exactly what this country needs.
-
Have you actually looked at Manchin's voting record, seriously? He's from By God West Virginia. As MAGA as they get.
-
Who gets mail delivery on Sunday night? Sounds like he spent the weekend avoiding calls from his so called lawyers.
-
From what I've read is that Manchin or whomever the "No Labels" candidate is could receive enough of the voters who voted for Trump in 2016 and Biden in 2020 to swing the EC to Trump. Look at it as another Hillary/Trump election again.

Or maybe detain the other indicted individual until his trial. That includes no rallies and no social media posting. Anyone campaigning for him should be charged with jury tampering

I'll never grow tired of all the losing. Just waiting patiently for the big one the puts the Trump Crime Family away for good.
