Also he's not the only person in the office per the website. We're talking 81 road games plus Spring Training. So maybe 100 days or so on the road? For home games, especially with the pitch clock, a one o'clock game still has him out by four or five at the latest. Night games at the ballpark around 4:30 or so, still time to put in a few hours..

I was just looking at his website. Most of his listings seem to be in the Waterford, Clarkston area. His site says he specializes in first time homebuyers. The issue might be availability on road trips, but outside of actually showing homes a lot can be done remotely. Having bought a house several states away during the pandemic it's doable. We even did the pre closing walk thru on FaceTime (did miss a couple of small things).

Most courtrooms that allow cameras usually only have one set stationary camera. Everyone would get the same feed. Basically like what you would see on a normal day on CSpan. Neither party would have control.

I saw a suggestion that actually made more sense. Televising the OJ trial really didn't change many opinions (despite the gloves) and allowed both sides to grandstand more than necessary. The suggestion was to air the audio only. That could cut down on whatever grandstanding you would have. Many courts now stream audio, including the Supreme Court on major decisions. Just like Oblong's thoughts about conservative "news stations" not airing the trial, what radio outlets would actually give up $$$ to air it in 2023/2024? Then what MAGAs would actually tune in to either?

there were a whole slew of them back in the day. Happy Birthday, Sweet 16...You're 16, You're Beautiful and You're Mine... Sweet Little 16... And they played the grooves out of them on the radio..

Help me out here a bit. Watching a bit Friday night on my IPad, I was impressed with Jack Campbell, he reminds be a bit of a young Brian Urlacher. Am I seeing things? Or wishful thinking?

Spielman was a football player first and a broadcaster second. He was damned good at both. I think the #, name and college almost comes naturally to him. It also helps that he's employed by the Lions and has been very active in the current organization. Another one of Sheila's better moves.

We're preaching to the choir here. Any Trumpservative who wanders in here yells and screams about being abused for several weeks, without offering any viable discussion. Then cries that they've been persecuted and runs off like a scared 12 year old. Or the post stupid memes like our recent friend Pig Virus.

I vote for one or three. Probably closer to one, trying to play both sides

Georgia indictment alleges Trump's meeting with Michigan legislative leaders, Giuliani's Michigan House testimony were "overt acts in furtherance of the conspiracy" by "criminal enterprise" https://x.com/jonathanoosting/status/1691390207747072000?s=46&t=Hkcls71g8OYK4gqVoqRrnw Per Jonathan Oosting TWEET

I've watched my share of the Chicago Air and Water Show. Also a few of the airshows at NAS Oceania. Still nothing compares to just driving along and seeing a couple of jets heading out for maneuvers as you cruise to lunch

I wanted to resurrect this thread. Just finished S A Cosby's latest novel, All Sinners Bleed. Cosby has written 3 crime novels dealing with life in rural SE Virginia. I've seen a couple of interviews with him and he's just delightful. I also had a chance to briefly meet him today at the National Book Fair in DC (part of my wife's job). The kind of guy you want to drink bourbon from a mason jar with.

Definitely impressed so far with Campbell

I ended up buying NFL+, I think it should suit my needs. We had YouTubeTV for a while but they've priced themselves out of our budget. Cable TV has also gotten way over priced for what we actually watch, even with its basic package it's over $100 a month (including internet)( I keep seeing offers so we'll see). I don't trust relying on 5G where we are for staying stable for work purposes. And we're too far away from local TV towers to make antenna TV viable. Dang you'd think I live in the middle of nowhere, We're right on the edge of one of the more popular tourists areas in the state

A bit off topic, but has anyone had any experience with NFL+ and or Premium? Is it good for streaming out of market games. I'm assuming it's similar to the MLB app for watching games. I just don't want to pay for Youtube TV plus the NFL package if I don't have to.

Just needed to drop in and pay homage to Robbie Robertson, guitar player, song writer and one of the more influential groups of the late 60s... I may need to screen The Last Waltz again today

I'm old enough to remember pink paper ballots. I can't remember whether there were envelopes or not (probably were) and we dropped them in a big metal box with a slit. After the poles closed the old(er) ladies (who worked every election since Roosevelt) counted them by hand. I never remember anyone complaining, except maybe my grandfather who had to fend for himself at dinner time.

I think I may ask my local school system to ban the Bible from libraries. Stories of infidelity, incest, murder, mayham. Nothing under age children should be reading or even learning about.

That's basically what I thought. Thanks

I wasn't in Detroit during the whole Ernie kerfuffle. Just curious, based on what I've read and a little "inside knowledge" of the media. Who was actually behind the decision to replace Harwell? Did Tom Monaghan hold a grudge? Did the decision/suggestion come from the flagship radio station? Or was Bo being Bo. Would it be correct to assume there might be a couple of issues over Ernie's contract or an upcoming one?

Same boat, maybe it's age related. I do occasionally get out to a few of the local festivals or weekly offerings of the region. A couple of "swing" bands have got my attention. If you're ever in the South Atlantic region, check out Good Shot Judy. It's the one group I've seen that has groupies in the 50-70 crowd. The dance area is always full. One of the local churches brings in an eclectic collection of musical fair, from Scottish Folk to groups like the Harlem String Quartet (which has ties to the Ann Arbor based Sphinx origination

I tend to agree with a lot of this but also feel that what you are exposed to growing up and as an adult also has an affect on where you lean on issues. As a Boomer I came of age during Viet Nam, lived thru both Kennedys and MLK's assignations between the ages of 12 and 16, throw in Watergate and the Wars Iraq and Afghanistan. Also as an adult I've moved several times, became aware of customs and points of views that I wouldn't have been exposed to had we stayed in SW Pennsylvania as a youngster or SW Virginia as an adult. My wife and I have traveled a bit which I think also changes the way you perceive things. I see people who never spent more than a week or so any significant distance where they were raised. Associating with many of the same folks they went to high school with (on both sides of the aisle). If you live your entire life in a bubble, your views become more and more one sided as you age,
