Most of my meds are very reasonable thru Medicare's supplemental drug insurance. The real killer on price is still considered experimental and only available thru speciality drug companies. Even though I've reached the "catastrophic" deductible level after the first month, the discount still makes me shake my head when I get the bill. Higher than my rent payments in the '80s...

I started volunteering recently at the Colonial Williamsburg visitors center. Yesterday was a free day, no tickets needed to tour most of the buildings and trades. I mentioned it to my co-worker who has been there a couple decades. Got the eye roll. She said Fathers Day was more important.
