  1. When I was leaving the house for work during pre school hours it was mostly parents in their cars waiting for the bus.
  2. I learned my lessons early. In 7th grade, being the lone "Yankee" in my new school I bet about $10 on the Yankees beating the Cardinals in the 1964 World Series. Then there was the $50 bet with a friend when the "Bet you can't eat just one" Frito commercial came out. I lasted about 6 months before my pqrentw found out attempted to sabotage my efforts. We agreed to call off the bet.
  3. I'm embellishing a bit, the original proposal would have allowed Snyder to spend $1 Billion on the stadium, hotels, shopping, etc. It's been trimmed back, But this seems to be Youngkin's pet project... https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/03/08/virginia-commanders-stadium-financing/ Between that and the state school superintendents unanimously condemning things like the Governor's Tip Line....
  4. I have a feeling the winning issue for the Virginia Democrats may be Governor Fleece Vest and his cohorts wanting to give the Washington Red Commanders Northern Virginia....(for nothing)
  5. Moderna is seeking approval for second booster https://www.cnbc.com/2022/03/18/moderna-seeks-fda-authorization-for-4th-dose-of-covid-shot.html?utm_campaign=mb&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_source=morning_brew Annual boosters will be the norm soon.
  6. I'll gladly help pay for a one way ticket back to the fatherland for him and a few of his fellow travelers.
  7. All that time hanging with NYC Mafia bosses
  8. Remember that cargo ship that got stuck in the Suez Canal last year? Welp..... https://www.axios.com/evergreen-container-ship-runs-aground-chesapeake-bay-f63d08ca-5d3f-4515-803d-2a05bd4faaad.html
  9. But they had Julie London and her husband Bobby Troupe...(who wrote the classic Route 66)
  10. For something totally different. I saw The MSU Wind Symphony do this about a month ago in a live concert they streamed. This is from a couple of years ago and just as compelling....Keven Sedatole is a marvelous conductor and does a fantastic job getting these musicians ready
  11. I was always taught you were judged by the company you keep. It's the perception unless you prove otherwise. It was true in 1964, it's true now
  12. I'm fairly agnostic on the subject. However back when my workday started at 5 AM or earlier the extra hour of sunlight in the evening was a bit of a deterrent. I found it hard to get to sleep by 9 at the latest to hit the 3-3:30 wake-up alarm. Afternoon naps were of little use if I could manage one.
  13. Or to the bus stop. Some mornings it was nearly impossible to get out of the sub with all the cars lined up waiting for the bus. Now that I'm retired not much of an issue.
  14. They just can't figure out how to get back on the Pa Turnpike when they hit Breezewood.
  15. No matter what you think about her music, you have to admit she's a class act, Looking forward to Rocker Dolly"
  16. Ramblings of an old man ,,,,,,
  17. As well as chase good teachers out of the business because they are tired of the legislative bullshit along with funds taken away from needy public schools to fund schools that used to be private back in the days where things were mostly great for us lower middle class white kids, supposedly.
  18. According to that poll approximately 67% of Republicans seem to be retrogressing...
  19. I am really curious to hear the "conservative" defense of this bill...
  20. So who gets to be the arbiter of exactly what is appropriate for K-3 students? And what happens when they begin to ask questions that are outside the guidelines set by the state? These kids are a lot smarter than what so called conservatives give them credit for. Many of them know other kids from same parent families. That aside, hearing anecdotes from a niece who has taught K-3 in a rural, extremely poor county here in Virginia for the last 15 years, she has to answer questions that weren't in her teaching curriculum. She's also had to deal with first graders who decided it was a good idea to play doctor during recess. (Try keeping track of 20 kids at once on a playground) All this law does is cause more confusion and political separation because parents are too lazy or not knowledgeable to do their job properly.

  22. Just dig a bit deeper in Sheila's couch...
