  4. It's impossible to do a proper appraisal the day after the trade deadline. On paper it looks like a solid B. We got some tangible prospects for expiring contracts. But then on paper, I'm a millionaire
  5. Another interesting piece from JVL today. Since It's primary day in both Michigan and Virginia as well as several other state most voters minds are made up. However the riff between the flavors of DSA will linger into 2028 if we make it that far https://www.thebulwark.com/p/democratic-socialists-social-democrats-dsa?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email#substack-comments Quoting the "good stuff"

  7. I basically agree. Boras did what agents are supposed to do, present their clients in the best light. Harris, on the other hand has the responsibility of doing the same for the team. I agree, long term contract for a pitcher with a history of arm issues, especially around age 30 to me seem to be a risk. Especially if we're talking about the amount of money Skubal (and Boris) are looking for. That said, I'm also not carrying much hope that we'll see much of Job in the future either,
  8. On the Harris comment about Skubal negotiations (or lack of) from today's Athletic... https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7490940/2026/08/04/scott-harris-tarik-skubal-tigers-decisions-future/?unlocked_article_code=1.21A.97au.u5n7n0Se2qH2&source=user_shared_article&smid=ta-ios-share It looks like a bit of a gulf there. Probably the Tigers thinking "why get into a bidding war they can't win.". What they recieved for both Mize and Scubal is probably mor than what they would have received from the compensation picks. Not crazy about it, but unfortunately that's how MLB's market works.
  9. Not Tiger related (any more) but I did find it a bit amusing to see Jake Rodgers included in the Rutchman deal. He barely had time to unpack in Baltimore.
  10. So it's bound to have a constant nuclear cloud over it
  11. I'm sure they were an improvement over Hawk and whomever. I did like Wimpy when we lived there however
