  1. He was on Maddow last night. Good interview. As an aside I was taken back by the number of Anti Musk/Trump protests around the country in the past few days. Something MSM (outside of Rachael is not talking about)
  2. This could go in the investment thread, except it is political. https://www.axios.com/newsletters/axios-markets-610f0280-e3c9-11ef-9e6c-fd3148ff9206.html?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter_axiosmarkets&stream=business
  3. It depends on what Musk knows and what Vlad's told him. $275 Mil plus other grifts goes a long way to guys like DJT
  4. At 72 plus what we have in savings and investments I'll hold pat. Pay off the house, car and a few other loans. If I could get rid of the "Vacation Club" stuff we got into several years ago I'd be set and still do a bit of traveling.
  5. Why isn't anyone questioning Fox's right to broadcast? (Hint, they don't have an FCC license, neither does CNN or MSNBC although their parent companies may own stations) but Trump friendly peasants aren't smart enough to figure it out.
  6. 5 FEBRUARY 1775, LONDON: “I cannot but lament with you the impending Calamities Britain and her Colonies are about to suffer, from great Imprudencies on both Sides,” Benjamin Franklin writes to his friend Joseph Galloway in Philadelphia. buff.ly/3PnJUPO Those arising there, are more in your View; these here, which I assure you are very great, in mine. Passion governs, and she never governs wisely. What we can’t remedy we must endeavour to bear. … “I have however generally strong Hopes amounting almost to an Assurance, that tho’ we may suffer much for a while, America will finaly be greatly benefited by her present Difficulties, and rise superior to them all.”
  7. NPR gets the equivalent of loose change found in your couch (who has loose change these days).
  8. They are definitely targeting Medicare and Medicaid as well as Social Security. Screw older voters anyway...
  9. A couple of ideas. 1. Add a called ball to the HR contest. Batters must "call their shot" to certain spots. 2) Hitting challenges, bunting skills, hitting to opposite field, or hitting certain "targets in the outfield and infield) 3) Fielding accuracy. Outfielders throwing to spots in the infield of fly balls. Infielders making accurate throw on batted balls to moving targets. 4) Catchers throwing and pickoff skills, popups and throws to moving targets...
  10. Trumpers in my FB feed have been trumpeting this the last few days https://www.kennedy.senate.gov/public/2025/1/kennedy-calls-for-fcc-to-review-partisan-decision-to-approve-soros-backed-takeover-of-200-radio-stations Funny, they seem to be OK with FOX, Salem Radio, whatever Clear Channel is calling themselves these days who give us constant conservative radio pablum
  11. Local First World problems, the county has cut off water for the next six hours or so as contractors install a water line into the building site of a new subdivision. FB and Nextdoor is going crazy, I just consider it practice for the next four years or so. The HOA really needs to install portajohns on every street in the community
  12. This should tie up Congress for about 15 minutes. Almost like a strongly written email to my shipyard owned Congress critter

  14. And if not them family members
  15. From Bill Kristol this morning We are seeing purges and secrecy and firings and, yes, law-breaking by a bunch of arrogant young Muskovites, acting at the direction of their Alternative für Deutschland–supporting unelected and unaccountable “special government employee” boss. Americans already have their doubts about Musk. His presence, looming in the wings and off-putting to most Americans, is a vulnerability to be exploited. Also an interesting take from Wired, especially on recent votes by a senator from Maine. It inferred some of the pressure being put on elected Republican goes beyond threats of being primaried.
