  1. Harry Litman ‪@harrylitman.bsky.social‬ Follow Orwellian quote of the week: "A spokesman said the DOJ is committed to advancing the new administration’s goals, including “upholding the rule of law, ensuring the security of the American people, restoring the public’s trust in the justice system, and ending weaponization of government.” January 28, 2025 at 11:57 AM Everybody can reply
  2. Put your elementary youngsters to work at fast food restaurants and such. BTW since the Oligarchs and the World Wide Web have completely demolished things like local newspapers there are no longer many viable jobs for 10, 11, 12 year olds.
  3. Gretch is out???
  4. Here is the real answer
  5. Because going after drug gangs and terrorists is not a sexy as rounding up illegal "aliens"

  7. And why aren't they arresting business owners and managers for hiring them in the first place. Huge fines on businesses who hire undocumented workers.
  8. It doesn't matter. The fact he was one of the violent "tourists" 1/6/2021 is still on his very permanent record. As I said KARMA. He will always be known for receiving a Trump pardon. His name was on the list. Where were they wrong. I'm not litigating this any more
  9. He was still on the list of those pardoned. Every news story (Indiana newspapers, TV, UPI) say he was on the list. It is possible to have served a sentence and still receive a pardon. Much like Trump's son in law's father (who is now an Ambassador. Don't want to litigate it any more. Besides KARMA
  10. Just another of Trump's "Very fine people"
  11. These do not look appetizing at all. Especially coming from a supposedly top line venue like Doral. I have seen spreads at the local public course. I sure hope they were served with a side order of Pepto Bisho
  12. Dell Cameron ‪@dell.bsky.social‬ Follow Trump just disabled the oversight board that was created specifically to make sure US presidents don't illegally surveil Americans:
  13. How about being trusted to faithfully uphold the Constitution, or is that a stretch for Donny T https://bsky.app/profile/cnn.com/post/3lgqv7u2vss2t

  15. BTW I wouldn't be surprised if Bridgewater joined the Lions coaching staff in some capacity in the upcoming season
  16. It wasn't like Bridgewater was sitting around all season with his team in Texas. At DC's press conference talking about the signing Campbell acknowledged that Bridgewater was working out. He also knew the most of the playbook from last season with the team so it wasn't like they were bringing in a complete unknown. There is also a lot more pressure in a playoff situation than a regular season game and at the time Bridgewater was inserted who knew how serious Geoff's injury was (he was in the tent). I'd much rather go with someone who has had more real game experience than someone who's been holding the clipboard all season. Last season was a lost year for him with his injury.
  17. One bit of speculation I saw was with Bregman staying at third and Altuve in left would have Paredes moving to second. Doesn't really sound great to me. Seems like the Astros have a lot of aging DH's.
  18. 1973.. The United States, South Vietnam, Viet Cong and North Vietnam formally sign“An Agreement Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam” in Paris. Due to South Vietnam’s unwillingness to recognize the Viet Cong’s Provisional Revolutionary Government, all references to it were confined to a two-party version of the document signed by North Vietnam and the United States—the South Vietnamese were presented with a separate document that did not make reference to the Viet Cong government. This was part of Saigon’s long-time refusal to recognize the Viet Cong as a legitimate participant in the discussions to end the war. The settlement included a cease-fire throughout Vietnam. In addition, the United States agreed to the withdrawal of all U.S. troops and advisors (totaling about 23,700) and the dismantling of all U.S. bases within 60 days. In return, the North Vietnamese agreed to release all U.S. and other prisoners of war. https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/paris-peace-accords-signed?cmpid=email-hist-tdih-2025-0127|-01272025&om_rid=
  19. On January 27, 1945, Soviet troops enter Auschwitz, Poland, freeing the survivors of the network of concentration camps—and finally revealing to the world the depth of the horrors perpetrated there. Auschwitz was really a group of camps, designated I, II, and III. There were also 40 smaller “satellite” camps. It was at Auschwitz II, at Birkenau, established in October 1941, that the SS created a complex, monstrously orchestrated killing ground: 300 prison barracks; four “bathhouses” in which prisoners were gassed; corpse cellars; and cremating ovens. Thousands of prisoners were also used for medical experiments overseen and performed by the camp doctor, Josef Mengele, the “Angel of Death.” https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/soviets-liberate-auschwitz?cmpid=email-hist-tdih-2025-0127|-01272025&om_rid= A launch pad fire during Apollo program tests at Cape Canaveral, Florida, kills astronauts Virgil “Gus” Grissom, Edward H. White II, and Roger B. Chaffee. An investigation indicated that a faulty electrical wire inside the Apollo 1 command module was the probable cause of the fire. The astronauts, the first Americans to die in a spacecraft, had been participating in a simulation of the Apollo 1launch scheduled for the next month. https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/astronauts-die-in-launch-pad-fire
  20. Here's the translation of the X
  21. My wife was once told by the General Manager of a major station "A woman will never work morning drive on my station". Had a car dealer tell her to come back with your husband. (she was planning on paying cash) Been passed over for several promotions because of the "good ole boys" club. F em all. Especially since we have a president who basically got where he is because of a daddy who bailed him out several times. Trump is the poster boy for DEI
