  1. I thought it was pretty comical that MLB pulled the AS Game from Atlanta only to return to a bigger stage for the WS the same year.
  2. I was wrong, it varies but most get paid: How much do poll workers get paid in each state? The method varies between states with some setting a minimum hourly wage and others opting for daily compensation, but the local authorities can, and often do, pay more to ensure they get enough staff. Of the states to offer a daily stipend to poll workers, 13 of them have a minimum amount of less than $100 a day: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Virginia Another seven areas (five states and two territories) guarantee poll workers a minimum daily stipend of at least $100 a day: Guam, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Virgin Islands In eleven states poll workers are entitled to be paid at the state or federal minimum wage or higher, on an hourly basis: Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Wyoming Three states have designated a specific hourly wage that differs from the minimum wage: Alaska, Missouri, North Dakota And poll workers in the remaining states and one territory are not bound by a state-defined minimum wage or daily stipend, leaving the decision of payment entirely in the hands of local election officials: American Samoa, California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin
  3. Poll workers are volunteers right? How can the gov't fix that? Make it a payed position?
  4. You are right. My point being if we have to wait for a while in line to vote and you are able to vote I don't see the big deal. If I have to wait for an hour at the BMV or the SS office should we be upset? You have to even show an ID in those instances. I am not downplaying voters rights issues. It should not be hard to be allowed to vote for anyone legally able to. Why have I never seen protests in Indiana over the last 4-5 election cycles because you have to show an ID to vote? Why have voters rights groups not put a state like this into the spotlight prior to the currrent round of voter rights issues?
  5. Ukraine is the nerve center of the Alt Right. Many former U.S. soldiers and Marines moved there and train recruits from around the world under Oleh Tyahnybok's ultranationalist Svoboda. They pay americans well, I know of a few Vet's who moved there recently.
  6. Hmmm sounds like the Ozarks, it must be Wendy Byrde.
  7. What about mail in voting? I thought that had a huge impact on the last election cycle. How can you get anymore easy/convenient?
  8. Why not?
  9. You don’t think any of them had to wait in excessive lines to vote through all that lineage? I was talking exclusively about line waiting not voting rights.
  10. Now you are reaching back to gentlemen farmers whatever those were. There are multiple ways to vote today that Ezekiel didn’t have access to.
  11. No Mam, I saw men crying for their mothers as they lay dying excruciating deaths. They sacrificed more than an inconvenience of a long line. a small sacrifice to wait in line if it means so many people are able to vote freely. Sorry it offends anyone.
  12. I was speaking to the respect we should give to the election process. The conversation was going from we are losing voters rights to complaining about wait time in past elections.
  13. In 2008 I waited over two hours to vote Obama (who won Indiana). There were lots of republicans crossing over. No one in line complained around me.
  14. That’s a different situation than the one you were speaking to. The closing of polling locations should not happen. Waiting in a line for 2 two hours should feel more like a badge of honor, some have sacrificed so you can.
  15. Now we are complaining just to complain. We have always waited in lines, the evil repubs didn't create that. Maybe shadow repubs I dunno.
  16. Was not sure where to put this but strange setting for the Olympics. It reminds me of a sci-fi Chernobyl worst case scenario high population nuclear meltdown scene.
  17. One of my favorite catchers Froot Loops.
  18. Thats amazingly low COVID beds.
  19. Agreed, No Reservations was a fantastic show. I own most of his books as well. I think when he signed up for The Taste things started spiraling on him. Doing a corny cooking show was not how I invisoned his legacy ending.....
  20. LOL, a number of us from the board all got together in Chicago to see the Tigers. Chuck was gracious enough to purchase tickets for my family using his connections. It was a Detroit takeover, many more Tigers fans than Cubs. I want to say 2012?
  21. I miss Bourdain...
  22. Sorry once again. You remember meeting me in person?
  23. Sorry, you just come across very judgemental. I take it back, don't ride over to Buddhas.
  24. No, my age group was not released for the vaccine yet (Jan 2021). My ICU nurse wife brought it home and everyone including my kids were infected. We were told to wait 90 days after recovery to get vaxxed which by then my age group was eligible. Lift your elitist nose some other direction. Better yet take a bike ride through Buddhas hood. 🙄
