Sunday night games:
Toledo Loses to St. Paul 5-4
Meadows 1-5, double 1 K, .499 OPS
Urshela 3-3 all singles but he seems ready to get back to MLB...
Malloy 0-3, 1 BB, .868 OPS
Bigbie 1-4, .685 OPS
Dingler 1-3, single-SF, .726 OPS
All singles today except for Parker's double...
Madden 5 IP's, 3 H 3 BB's 7 K's 1 ER, 7.50 ERA in Toledo (7 runs in 3 1st AAA start, 2 ER's in 4 - 2nd, 1 ER in 5 today = he's getting better handling AAA batters...?)
Flores gave up 4 ER's in 1 inning, 6.04 ERA
Erie Wins 7-0 over Richmond
Workman 1-4, .896 OPS
Lee 3-4, 2 HR's & 5 RBI's, .793 OPS
Trei Cruz 2-4, .646 OPS
Ya know: Trei Cruz is a SS and he's in Erie... I don't know if that gets us anywhere... he's mostly struggled in the minors and .646 is not "fantastic" or anything.... I'm just saying... He's in the Cruz bloodline so...?)
Lockhart (2021-9th rounder from the Dodgers, 26 yo LH'er) 5 IP's, 1 H 2 BB's 2 K's, 1.93 ERA
WM Loses to Ft. Wayne 7-6
Anderson 2-5, (2) doubles, .748 OPS
Gold 3-5, single-double-HR, .998 OPS
Campos 2-4, single-double 1 BB, .770 OPS
Dylan Smith 6 BB's in 4 inn's (ewww), still has a 3.03 ERA though with 0 ER's today. But a 1.48 WHIP.
Lakeland Wins 6-4 over Daytona
McGonigle 1-4, .806 OPS
Clark 2-4, singles, .695 OPS
Briceno 1-2, triple, 1 BB, .831 OPS
Jose De La Cruz, 2-4, 2 singles, .726 OPS

Decided to not be lazy: 8% elderly which could be men or women or a mix...
So 8% uncertainty baked into the UN numbers...

40+32+20 = 92. What's the missing 8%? (Sorry, I'm being lazy...)

This was constructed as an 80 win team. That total goes up if their hitting improves; It goes down if they have major pitching injuries. I think we now have a pretty good read on how this will end up.
And the division is much better than we thought; They will not be competitive unless the offense improves.
This sounds about right.
Now if we could only get this offense to wake up... Or at least a few certain players.
Tork opened his eyes today, stretched, yawned, and smacked his 1st HR of the year.
Need...

Well...
This is funny timing on TORK!!!'s 1st HR...
But at least it breaks the ice...

Because he has zero pitch recognition ability.
That sucks.

Thank you Colt.

Verlander's gonna toss a no-hitter against us...

He double-dipped on a tax deduction...
And got caught.

The average OPS in the Florida State League so far this season is .663. Clark is fine.
Do you know why Cristian Santana is struggling so much...?

Toledo radio says that Baddoo is getting called up.
So who is going to sit for Baddoo?
Canha, Wenceel, Carpenter...? Certainly not Greene.
Or is he just a pinch hitter...?
Just thinking out loud here: I'd almost rather call up Dingler and give him two games a week in place of Kelly... Just to expose him to MLB pitching... and to see what he's got...

That would be good enough.
Probably starts out as a punt/kick returner...

I'm with Sports Freak...
He gets at least 3+ years to enact his vision so we can see what he's capable of... so in my mind...
That's still 2+ years before I even begin any kind of earnest evaluation.
And so far, early returns, in my mind, are highly promising.
Organizationally, as well as player acquisition...

Not discounting Green at all.
He's just an unknown factor at this point...

The manager gets a one year homeymoon. In Hinch's first year, he was a genius who could do no wrong. Now, each year he gets dumber and dumber. It was the same with Leyland.
The only flipside I would say is:
If a team is crap and losing 100 games then it's easy to just say "Ain't got the players". And if a team is winning 100+ games nobody cares (mostly) about a manager's decisions because... well, winning. But with a team that's barely scraping by at around .500 and winning or losing games by the thinnest of margins... Makes every decision a manager makes subject to second guessing.
I don't normally say anything about a manager's decisions...
And losing 100 or so games the past 7 years, right after a spate of years winning 100 or so games... made that easy.
Now... I love AJ Hinch...
But I'm feeling critical all of a sudden...
By the thinnest of margins.
