I'm guessing they thought his uptick was real. But that they were selling high (a 1st and a 2nd for Hronek?)... AND... They were avoiding a costly 2023+ contract. They selected Pellikka and Brady Cleveland with those picks, a couple defenseman... I say it was a good trade. Despite how Hronek is currently playing...

This is the only thing that needs to be stated...

Ewsieg would have us believe otherwise. Nefarious intent.

Pun intended.

I thought the Red Wings played tonight? Not until tomorrow? Did I lose track of a game...? And... YEESH, what's with the long as **** wait between the AS break and this next game? What crappy scheduling.

I'm taking it as since he is NOT being charged, by a political hack 100% against him... That therefore I do NOT need to defend him. Fait accompli.

Sure, of course. But the challengers will be SIGNIFICANTLY higher than this year, 2024. Amiright? And not because of race. But because this year it's an incumbent President, versus "only" an incumbent VP. If Harris goes all the way in 2028, her challengers in 2032 as an incumbent will look a lot like this year's: next to nothing, or nobodies.

MTU wins. On logic. And reality. Get back to us in 2028 for the next Dem candidate for President. That one will be wide open, not this one. I'll add in Buttigieg's hat to the ring as well.

Biden's documents supposedly had clearance to be in his book, at least on a reference basis. Which is why he had them in the first place. Whether they included an incorrect document or not, was in Hur's report. Trump's intentions were otherwise. Also, the degree of cooperation was, ummm, vastly different. NOT the same between these two instances. Period.

The whataboutism gets ridiculous sometimes. I get it, Dems also need to be held accountable. But looking at a molehill, and a mountain, and asking "aren't these the same" is, well, actually, a bit comical.

That will be a LOT easier after Biden's 8 years than it is right now, today. It's just a reality. I can live with 8 years of Biden. He is quietly effective. He's doing all the right things (even if it isn't perfect and there are grumblings.) I understand the desire for fresh blood/ fresh ideas/ fresh face... But the drop from Biden to Trump, versus another Dem candidate to Biden, is so precipitous that personally (ME, MYSELF and I) won't even CONTEMPLATE (yes.. I needed to use all-caps there in both instances... as in: it's not just that I won't even contemplate another Dem candidate... but rather, I won't even CONTEMPLATE...) any other Dem Candidate. Just my 2 cents.

No, he wants North Korea. He wants ALL the money to go to him. He would love to kill whoever he wants to. He LOVES Kim Jong Un's setup in NK. Absolute power. Absolute control over all of the money. Maduro has that in Venezuela too. Don't kid yourself. That is EXACTLY what Trump wants.

We need to find (draft) our own Maxx Crosby. Wasn't Crosby a 3rd rounder? Holmes could do that. I think I even spotted a potential Crosby floating around in the mock draft 2nd round this year... Chris Braswell seems like a Holmes/ DC type of guy...
-
Would love to do that. There are some interesting potential candidates out there. But it's just not going to happen. We all know that. There are worse things out there than Great Grandpa Biden bringing us from the period of violent fascism and grotesque narcissism hopefully back to a period of Adults in the Room again (likelihood we get back to that...? 2%? Cat's outta the bag with rampant social media ills so... it just seems so hard to get back there...). I mean, Trump is trying to lead this country into being Venezuela or North Korea (what he REALLY wants). Venezuela and North Korea are DEFINITELY worse than 8 years of Great Grandpa Biden. You could even say that's a bit creepy... but that's STILL not as bad...

2/7 10PM EST Detroit Pistons @ Sacramento Kings
1984Echoes replied to Tigeraholic1's topic in Detroit Pistons
I think I am going to settle on: "Initiator". I don't want Ivey to be a ball-dominant PG... and as buddha points out he's not a great passer, etc... But what I want him to do is to "initiate" the offense by attacking defenses trying to break them down. Not on every play of course because teams will adapt to repetitive play. Whether it's initiated from transition (as G2 says, dude is fast), or pick-n-rolls, etc... His speed helps... Jalen "The Initiator" Ivey. Book it. -
On the flipside: After seeing all these moves, is it enough for Gores? Does he think Bojan had a higher price last year (were any of those "1st rounder" real offers, or just rumors)? He gave Weaver a directive to change this team before this season ends. Was it an ultimatum? I wouldn't close the door on this. It may depend on how the Pistons finish the season with all these new kids. With some... hope? Or looking worse than ever...?

Well I don't think Ivey needs to be a Jason Kidd-passing wizard... He only needs to be able to pass out of a double-team when he drives & dishes... The out of control is probably not great... And maybe "primary" is not the correct term for what I am thinking. Less of a "primary" and more like a "break down artist". There are different ways that Ivey can get the defense moving and once that happens, as long as he can pass out of double teams and the ball gets into Cade's hands, I think Cade has better options once the defense is moving... -
I think Holmes can find pass-rushers in the draft. And a lower cost free agent pass-rusher or bookend DE that will be effective enough to help out Hutch & the D-Line. It's CB that is always a problem to find a guy good enough. The only FA I want Detroit to sign, at least as a priority where serious money is spent, is at CB. Probably $18M AAV for the top or near-top guy out there. If Sneed gets squeezed out by the Chiefs' salary cap. That's the one and only free agent priority I have. That's the guy I want.

Which is why Ivey should break down the defense first. I think that opens up Cade in a big way... instead of getting hemmed in as you say.. And to your point... that probably reduces Cade's turnovers ("nothing good"...) significantly, if he's facing broken defenses versus double/triple-teams. And should open his passing lanes too, if he wants to go that route (or the play design does...). Again, another way to reduce his turnovers. Just my 2 cents.
