I’m coaching and frequently we have extended waits for parents to arrive to pickup the last kid from practice. I beg another parent or assistant coach to stick around to avoid any appearance of problems.

The fact is that it’s men who are the main issue. They teach kids to find a woman if they are lost. They hire women to work in mortuaries. Men have breakable brains.

My grandfather was the executive for scouting for a US State in the 1930s and my dad relays that they had a list provided to them by the State Police that were adults who were not fit to be scout leaders. It seems that this is a known issue even in supposedly the idyllic past. I do not recall when I was a kid them saying anything at all about never alone with a scout but I do recall that from my son's time in scouting.

The issue in my case is a spouse and teen kid who want to listen to music and not follow the game. My being the Dad who jokingly claims he has college credits in driving from the Community College of the Air Force requires I be the driver. The wife, while a fully competent trooper who will drive any distance usually does the navigation on this sort of movement to resort/hotel.
