I did some rough analysis of the distance a 9mm bullet will travel. Roughly 2000m or 6000ft A rifle bullet say 5.56mm or .223 caliber will go up about 3500m or 10000ft. They come back down of course. The MTG and Paul Goszar pictures of them preparing to shoot down the balloon are laughable.

True. Anyway...this roughly corresponds to my take on the matter We will recover a lot of useful information from this. Primarily, we know that China are flailing away to gather intel on the US and didn't think this would be the result. Or, they don't understand public responses and behavior in their own society and mirror imaged the same onto the United States.
