  1. The two-or-more sport athlete thing requires a consumption of PED that isn't healthy.

  5. How do they play in those wooden shoes? [edit: I intended to make this about how when I was put into holding in a jail in Texas -- for speeding while my car had a Michigan license plate -- i witnessed that the general population prisoners had wooden clogs. I now see that isn't what happens anymore because there is a special "inmate shoe company" that makes cheap clogs for them which do not include metal shanks. Basically, the Texas penal system is gross]
  6. Walter Sobchak is John Millius
  7. I don't know why Raising Arizona didn't hit with me. I know many who love the film. I also don't know why I liked or appreciated is better term for it, Barton Fink. I think the scene in The Simpsons where Milhouse and a bunch of other kids are off to see a movie and Bart can't go start chanting "Barton Fink! Barton Fink!" amuses me to no end.

  18. Ok, lets compare five directors who I think are the best not named Scorsese making movies today. Or tell me who you would go out of your way to see a movie made by them. Nolan, Villaneuve, Wright, Fincher, Mendes...who else? maybe I could add Spike Lee. Possibly Oliver Stone. It doesn't appear Terry Gilliam is making movies anymore. My rating based on me seeing it and how good I thought it was: ! - worth seeing, !! - good definitely see it. !!! - you will think this is really good and will think about this movie after seeing it !!!! - You might name a kid after a character in this movie or at least foolishly make passwords using names of characters from this movie. !!!!! - best thing they have done and a movie that will weigh heavily in the culture for generations Christopher Nolan Following (1998) Memento (2000) -- !!! 19. First Nolan movie since the Batman movies. I'd bet Memento or Insomnia would be weird on that screen
  20. I can imagine the bomb test scene would be a "wow" in an IMAX theater and some of the scenery of New Mexico might be similarly amazing but, you probably should save your gas.
  21. Episode 7 of The Bear Season 2 (the Christmas episode) is a grind. My wife and I had to hug it out to calm our PTSD. EDIT: This is episode 6 i am referring to. Episode 7 is very good and features Olivia Coleman.
  22. Saw about half of the first episode. I wouldn't describe this as landmark television worthy of cancelling your plans for whatever night its on. I'll try to power through that episode tonight. I'm not sure this is worth the effort. Basically, there have not been good Detroit depictions in TVs and Movies since The Great and Powerful Oz which was metaphorically about Detroit.
  23. My observation is this is the first Nolan movie i can say that doesn't benefit too much from IMAX. The smaller theater I saw it in was just fine.
