  1. Yet another OT. If Vegas wins tonight or Game 5 the finals will be moved up to last start next Wednesday
  2. Miggy appearances this season need to be even rarer than Jim Price appearances.
  3. Dan Dickerson’s call of final out. Tigers beat Royals May 24.m4a
  4. So far Florida has knocked off the NHL overall #1, #4 and #2. Vegas is #5. If Florida pulls it off, it would have to be the toughest road to the Cup ever (although I should probably look up who the Kings beat when they were the bottom seed in their first Cup year).
  5. B.S. penalty call gives Florida a last minute poweplay and they convert with 4 seconds to go to win the series.
  6. And Oettinger giving up 3 goals on first 5 shots. Then all the stuff thrown on the ice including this:
  7. And if Marchand had converted here the Bruins would have won the series in 5! Wild, just wild.
  8. In recent years, Washington and Tampa and Colorado have all won the year the year AFTER winning the President’s Trophy after failing to do so their Trophy-winning year. Panthers are one win from the SCF after a 1-0 win tonight. It would be a Tkachuk-Bobrovsky toss-up for the Conn Smythe, IMO, if the season ended tonight.
  9. Bring back the shift. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZM28EWsk7/?t=2
  10. I love junior hockey. London knocked off Samia in conference finals but then get knocked off by Peterboroughj in the Ontario Hockey League finals
  11. That was quick. Easy wide open conversion of a juicy rebound a minute into OT and Vegas goes up 2-0.
  12. Yet another conference finals overtime. Vegas tied it with a couple of minutes to go in regulation.
  13. What a run that Florida has going. Up 2-0 in games over Carolina after the Panthers’ 8th straight road win, five of which have been in OT. Much shorter OT tonight, just a couple of minutes
  14. 1. The upset of the Bruins was one of the biggest in hockey history. And Florida is better than typical #8 seeds, having had a very good season last year and then this year handling the Leafs with relative ease after getting by Boston. NHL playoffs are not as unpredictable as some perceive, almost always the two finalists are top 7 teams overall in the regular season. That said, the first round has a fair number of upsets and being the home team is less of an advantage than in the NBA and NFL, and the #1 seed doesn’t win it all any more than a #2 or #3 seed. 2.I don’t think of Bruins fans as being hated. I’d say fans of Philly and Chicago are who we hear more often about as being hated. No one feels sorry for Boston fans though giving so many championships across all sports since 2000. Fair bit of hate towards the Bruins as a team because they’ve a) been very good for 10-15 years now: b) as an Original Six team have been around long enough to build up rivalries with the Habs and Rangers and Leafs (incidentally no rivalry to speak of with the Wings, I don’t believe the two teams have met in the playoffs since the ‘40s); and c) Marchand and Lukic and Chara and Tim Thomas and Krecji are the type to elicit reactions.
  15. The Tigers haven’t been within a game of .500 since being 2-3 the first week of the season. This is the 6th time since then that they’ve been 2 games under trying to get back to a game under - lost the first 5 times.
  16. Saw that, terrible. Could have caused serious damage to the guy’s foot.
  17. Speaking of which, Angels just took back the lead over the Twins on the MLB free game of the day. 5-4 bottom of the 7th. updare: Twins lose!
  18. Anther good one. Two games, two overtime winners. Might get into the conference finals after all.
  19. Boom. Dubas out as Leafs GM. https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/2650570
  20. Tkachuk! Thought for sure we were headed to 5OT.
