  1. I would have too. With a shaky pen like the Tigers, when you find one having a good night like Hurter should ride him for a while.
  2. The Tigers should be winning by more than 4-1.
  3. The Tigers haven’t scored 6 runs in a game since September 10. Can they score 2 runs the next 4 innings?
  4. Greene swings and misses on a pitch that bounced off of the plate or just to the side of the plate. Huge missed opportunity.
  5. So if the Tork hadn’t thrown home there and the Guardians had challenged and overturned the out call at 1st, would the run have counted? Doesn’t exactly seem fair if so.
  6. I would have let Melton pitch until his next baserunner.
  7. 4-pitch walk to Ramirez. One of our posters will be pleased.
  8. Tigers pitching continues to struggle with the bottom of the order.
  9. 3-0. The Tigers just made recent history.
  10. That was a good 1st inning, concluded with a nice run and catch by Wenceel. 2-0 after 1. Tigers coming to bat with a chance to have their first 3-run lead since Saturday September 13.
  11. Are they waking up?
  12. It’s the MLB.com Free Game of the Day. Makes sense, because people are always drawn to natural disasters and accidents and train wrecks.
  13. James McCann came up with the bases loaded and two out in a tie game in the bottom of the 10th last night, with a chance to put the Diamondbacks into the 3rd NL wildcard position. Popped out to 2nd. But the D'backs are still in it, tied with the Reds a game back of the Mets.
  14. As Gordon Lightfoot also said: "At seven p.m., a main hatchway caved in, he said. "Fellas, it's been good to know ya". The Wreck of the 2025 Tigers.
  15. The Tigers collapsing down the stretch then winning the wildcard round on the road would be the ultimate "dead cat bounce".
  16. No one let the Tigers get hot.
  17. Pretty sure Boston clinches if either one of those happens, I checked the tiebreakers last night. Worth double checking though. Technically Boston would still be in their division race but almost impossible for them to catch both NY and Toronto so would probably just rest up instead.
  18. I’d like to see dancing groundskeepers in the mode of Herbie Redmond.
  19. If the Red Sox win tomorrow (or the Astros lose) the Red Sox will have clinched a playoff spot and will have little to play for this weekend, as chances of winning the division are slim.
  20. Tigers’ magic number for the division remains at 6 but Cleveland is in pole position with a magic number of 3. But Houston has lost so the Tigers’ magic number for a wildcard spot is down to 3. Playoff fever …catch it!
  21. On September 5, the Mariners lost for the 6th time in 7 games. Since then they have gone 16-1, Raleigh hit his 60th tonight and they just clinched the AL West. First division title since 2001 and only 2nd playoff spot since then. The Tigers are mathematically eliminated from the bye, lol
  22. While nowhere near as bad as the Tigers' collapse, and with the security of a playoff spot locked up, the Jays have fallen apart too. From a 5 game lead with 11 games to go, to tied with the Yankees with 4 games to go. The Jays have lost 6 of the past 7.
  23. 4-0 Athletics. The turtle race for the final wildcard spot is on.
  24. 11 losses in 12 game. 8 straight losses overall. 5 straight losses to Cleveland. 18 teams in baseball have a positive run differential. Cleveland isn’t one of them, they are minus 4 on the season.
  25. If you have a torrid summer fling with a hot co-ed but you broke up after Labor Day, 10 years later will you be able to put the ending out of your head and just remember the good times? Probably if it was an amicable breakup, like if the Tigers lost a pennant race that was close and hard fought the whole way. But this collapse is the equivalent of not only her breaking up with you, but doing so after cheating on you with some loser dude. Hard to erase and move past that.
