  1. Yeah that’s an ugly contract the second half of the term. From a writer at The Atlantic:
  2. To me, Breaking Bad is like The Sopranos, BCS is like Mad Men. Pace and character development-wise.
  3. One thing he didn't do though in that outing. I don't believe he actually walked a batter. Maybe he can start off next time by walking the bases loaded.
  4. So how long has Gene been living in Nebraska during this week's episode? Is it 6 months after he was vacuumed? 1 year? 2 years?
  5. Not sure how much longer Canada will be allowed given the 2003 and 2018 gangbang allegations
  6. Did news of the trade leak to Fulmer before the 8th inning last night?
  7. That’s why I don’t think the Tigers were playoff underachievers. 5 appearances between 2006-2014 yielded 4 trips to the ALCS and 2 pennants. That’s probably more than we could have expected, especially without home field advantage any of those years and only in 2006 did they have close to the best record in baseball.
  8. I predict Jesse will show up in the Gene timeline, at at least news of him getting caught. Didn’t Francesca say Jesse was the last outstanding thread the Feds were still pursuing apart from Saul?
  9. Didn’t the son used to live in Albuquerque and recognize Saul from living and advertising there? I don’t remember, I’m not good with details in this.
  10. Nope, I'm fine with the Raptors but hate the Leafs and the Jays. Lived in a U of T dorm during the 1987 pennant race - it was glorious.
  11. Always nice to beat the Blow Jays.
  12. 25th anniversary of the release of this song. I don't care what anyone says, I always though it was a great pop song. Insightful lyrics too considering that they were ages 11-16 at the time. You have so many relationships in this life Only one or two will last You're going through all the pain and strife Then you turn your back and they're gone so fast Oh yeah And they're gone so fast, yeah, yeah, oh So hold on the ones who really care In the end they'll be the only ones there And when you get old and start losing your hair Can you tell me who will still care? Can you tell me who will still care? oh oh Okay, yeah [Chorus] Mmm bop, ba duba dop Ba du bop, ba duba dop
  13. I was amused to see this guy’s ranking of still-available free agent defensemen. Look at the 2nd pairing
  14. It runs in both of my families (although thankfully not with my immediate family members), so the risks were drilled into me from early age and assumed I could be more vulnerable than average.
  15. Sadly, relapses are always a looming possibility even with comeback stories. https://amp.tmz.com/2022/07/27/nhl-star-bobby-ryan-arrested-after-cops-believe-he-was-wasted-at-nashville-airport/
  16. When the oven timer went off, for a nanosecond I instinctively wondered what is Hector doing here.
  17. Great, another Chris Illtich signing gets injured.
  18. No, I said they are a better team today than they were yesterday morning, not 2 weeks ago. But I don’t think losing Gaudreau is enough to push them into full rebuild ..yet. Maybe they will go after Kadri now.
  19. It’s amazing how hard it is for an error to be called these days, even when the visiting team is at bat. In the top of the 5th inning, down 14-3, the Red Sox got the first two Blue Jays out. A few batters later, a high pop up between the mound and plate that would have ended the inning dropped among 3 Red Sox players. Was scored a hit. Jays went on to score 11 runs that inning, all earned.
  20. I don’t think it is a full rebuild in Calgary. They are a better team today then they were yesterday morning and they play in the weakest division in hockey. If they are doing lousy this coming season they can rebuild by flipping Weegan and Huberdeau at the deadline.
