I have to wonder just a bit how much different the Wings and Canucks would be if it had been the Wings firing their coach and hiring Bruce Boudreau earlier this year. Sure, talent is talent, and the Wings don't have enough. But the Wings were ahead of the 8-15-2 Canucks when Vancouver made the change on December 5. Now the Canucks are 18 points ahead of the Wings.

Dan on the radio broadcast just said that Baez’ thumb injury dates back to the Opening Day celebration. He was trying to get out of the way of getting Gatorade dumped on him. Maybe that’s been reported elsewhere but first I heard that.
