  1. Yep. It opens you up to not only getting caught or having ball punched out, but also a blocker taking a needless penalty behind the play.
  2. I guess this week is the defense’s turn to play only one good half. Third chance to basically end the game if they can stop Seattle from scoring.
  3. Is Ray Fosse up there trying to block Rose’s passage through the Pearly Gates?
  4. Will there be a Tar-ik Sku-bal chant at Ford Field tonight.
  5. Also, I wonder how Arizona is playing this today. They either start a series in Milwaukee tomorrow or else they don't play at all. So wouldn't it be worth it for them to be flying there already? Worst case scenario, it's just a wasted trip.
  6. Especially since either the Mets or Braves need to get all the way to San Diego for tomorrow! I wonder if that's one of the reasons they set the Tigers as the earliest game. Gives the NL teams a few more hours to get ready.
  7. Yep, sucks for Arizona, but Arizona had 162 games to solidify one of three wildcard spots and didn't, so them's the breaks.
  8. Mets are in. On to Game 2 ...
  9. Mets and Braves have used 5 pitchers each.
  10. And now 8-7 Mets on a 9th inning homer. What an hour.
  11. 6-3 Mets! What a turnaround. If the Mets win, are they allowed to drink champagne between games? Could be a fun 2nd game to watch the Mets play wasted.
  12. Game 1 of the Mets-Braves doubleheader has livened up. It was a 3-0 snoozer for the Braves heading to the 8th, but the Mets have strung together four straight hits to close to 3-2, with two on and 0 out. Joe Jimenez faced 3 batters without getting an out and has been replaced.
  13. Two wins separating the Tigers from an ALDS matchup with the Guardians. Which would be neat as Cleveland and Detroit have rarely been in contention at the same time.
  14. ABC? Who’s doing the play by play, Howard Cosell?
  15. And some things have to fall into a place, but a divisional round of Guardians-Tigers to decide the Central rep and Yankees-Orioles to decide the East rep would be fun.
  16. Maeda has had all the chances in the world. I don’t feel bad for him.
  17. From October 2012. From July 2010.
  18. And I guess Sale will do the same for the NL. -Skubal has most AL wins with 18, followed by 16 for Lugo of KC. Sale has most NL wins with 18, followed by 16 for Wheeler of Philadelphia. -Skubal leads AL with 2.39 ERA and Sale leads NL with 2.38 ERA, both by comfortable margins. - Skubal leads AL strikeouts with 228 over Ragans' 223. Sale leads NL strikeouts with 225, over the 224 of Wheeler and the Padres' Cease.
  19. Walkoff home run wins it for Atlanta. Tigers still a game up on K.C. headed into Game 162.
  20. Tigers lose, 4-0. Hangover game. No problem, the players deserved a break.
  21. 3 hitless, scoreless innings for Jobe.
