  1. If they have to rest him Thursday, fine. Even if the Rookie isn't back. I'm okay losing a game to Chicago if it means a better chances of great health going into the postseason. The only team that can beat the Lions is the Lions. The 2nd best team in the NFL is a distant second.
  2. Vs. AFC South this year 52-14 26-23 52-6 24-6 154-49
  3. Wow, if not for a little stumble, Craig Reynolds runs that all the way for a score there.
  4. Do you think they will try to keep the ASB TD streak going today?
  5. Today was the Goin' To Work Lions. Kind of an ugly game. A very physical game. I know the Bears are bad, but I think if the Lions are going to lose, let's say, 2 more games this year, Thursday is a candidate. This team is pretty beat up right now. They don't even get a 10 day rest after Thanksgivng this year.
  6. All these injuries and then 3 days rest after this. Yikes. They've lost 7 straight Thanksgiving games.
  7. You Tube and You Tube TV have been a disaster the last 3 days. Horrible picture quality, tons of drop outs. I am guessing I am getting a price hike any minute now.
  8. When do things start to pop with MLB Free Agency? Winter Meetings (Dec 8-11)? Is everyone holding their breath and waiting until Juan Soto signs with the Mets and *seemingly* sets the market? (I am guessing 14 years, 600 million)
  9. But Mickey Lolich threw 376 innings one year with 29 complete games
  10. A headline today "How Michigan pulled off Bryce Underwood flip" This is how, morons
  11. Spending 25-30 million a year on Bregman Bregman's slash line in 2024 .260/.315/.848 26 HR Matt Vierling .257/.312/.735 16 HR If Bregman played at Comerica 81 games, that 26 HR might be 21 If Vierling played at Houston it might be 19 or 20 Bregman now is a better player, but he's proably starting his decline, Is Bregman's production worth 25 million or more a season compared to Matt Vierling, who is slightly less productive and after arbitration will probably get something like 1.6 million. Plus I see Vierling as a guy who could still improve a bit. I'm just not sold on this version of Alex Bregman. That OBP going from .363 to .315 in one season is very alarming. They might just be better off signing an OF or 1B and pairing Vierling and Jung at 3b
  12. Yes. You're not signing peak Alex Bregman but he wants peak money. No.
  13. This is more on the agents than the owners. They are going to play all bidders against each other as long as they can (within reason). Seems like once we get into mid January, all that will be left are the guys that feel they are getting lowballed. That's probably when the Tigers will step in more. I'm thinking along the lines of Walker Buehler Jose Quintana Jose Igelsias Donovan Solano or Paul Goldschmidt A bunch of one-year prove it deals.
  14. It wasn't dramatic. He had it locked up in mid-September. If anything it only means he'll cost more and it's very likely that we're only getting one more season with Skubal in Detroit. Welcome to the Tampa Bay Rays of the North. Soon as we fall in love with a player, they're going bye bye. There is a difference. Nobody gives a **** about baseball in Tampa, and you can get away with pissing of your meager fanbase. Can't do that here so much. We're going to have to learn that the hard way.
  15. Not really, but why not LEAD ?
  16. Screw that, The Red Wings are the ones that need him.
  17. That was when it was the old board and that's all been deleted, but it would be interesting to see the reaction here. I think I liked the pick, but didn't love it. But that could be my own Mandela Effect.
  18. When is Iffy coming back? Secondary is already great
  19. WOW...............WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW.............CHRIS ILLITCH, I APOLOGIZE ! NOW THAT'S A BOLD MOVE ! (just trying to will something big here)
  20. Not upset about Vogt winning it, but Hinch should not have been THIRD.
  21. Dearest Constance, The Winters here are harsh and despite my hubris regarding my chances of surviving and even thriving in the wild, I find that no amount of of confidence is enough to sustain me now. I was merely fooling myself. This cold envelopes me at a cellular level. My food stores are very low and I am finding that I am too week to collect, much less chop fire wood. I am leaving you this note in the hopes that if my remains are eventually found, you will know that I did this for you. I survived several years on this frigid plane known as the 40-man roster. Every once in a while there was the warmth of attaining the active roster, but by the time those opportunities came around, I was far too weak and weary for it to last. Now I am cold and alone, waiting for the end as time tortures me with fleeting visions of hearing my name called by the PA announcer in a canyon-sized baseball cathedral. Even those dreams are fading. I will make every attempt to linger until Spring, but if I don't make it - please don't send my remains to the White Sox organization. Even in death one needs pride and dignity. Yours lovingly, Akil.
  22. Tork is in the starting lineup next year, no matter what. From Opening Day. It's up to him to earn his stay there. Whether they find someone to share the load at 1B/DH, I don't know, but you don't bail on a guy who just turned 25, who, at 23 hit more than 30 HR. Just stop with all this ridiculous talk about him being put on waivers. It's not going to happen. He and Mize have to prove it this coming season, but I refuse to call him a bust just yet. I think he's developed some bad mental habits that need fixing and hopefully the Tigers have the guys who can do that. He'll be given every possible chance, and he should be given that.
  23. I still remember the Lions folks celebrating in the draft room when they got Sewell.
  24. And the folks are right to vote this down. The money needs to go to fixing the hurricane damage, not a playpen for a billionaire.
