Today was the Goin' To Work Lions. Kind of an ugly game. A very physical game. I know the Bears are bad, but I think if the Lions are going to lose, let's say, 2 more games this year, Thursday is a candidate. This team is pretty beat up right now. They don't even get a 10 day rest after Thanksgivng this year.

Dearest Constance, The Winters here are harsh and despite my hubris regarding my chances of surviving and even thriving in the wild, I find that no amount of of confidence is enough to sustain me now. Tork is in the starting lineup next year, no matter what. From Opening Day. It's up to him to earn his stay there. Whether they find someone to share the load at 1B/DH, I don't know, but you don't bail on a guy who just turned 25, who, at 23 hit more than 30 HR. Just stop with all this ridiculous talk about him being put on waivers. It's not going to happen. He and Mize have to prove it this coming season, but I refuse to call him a bust just yet. I think he's developed some bad mental habits that need fixing and hopefully the Tigers have the guys who can do that. He'll be given every possible chance, and he should be given that.
