Tigers need to start thinking about possible futures at first base in case Tork really does go bust. With 2 catchers on the roster that they like, they have a third who is now hitting .306 with an OPS of .860 at Toledo, a guy they drafted in the 2nd round, right, right behind Tork? If he is seemingly blocked at Catcher, would it make sense to start to get the guy some PT at first base? He's got the frame at 6' 2" and 210. If the Tork Tank continues, they need to start considering something else. The Eric Munson comparisons only become more legit.

But when he DOESN'T play. They really don't have a shortstop, they have a few guys that could play shortstop, but not an actual shortstop-first guy. I got "banned" from Comerica Park one year when I had seats right next to the Tiger dugout. Alex Sanchez was on second base.......next player comes up and hits the ball to deep right center. Alex continues standing at second base, doesn't move, then realizes the ball is over the RF'ers head and then starts jogging to third and then stops halfway and runs back to second where the hitter is standing and he gets thrown out. Juan Samuel was the third base coach and he tried to get Sanchez' attention. Anyway, I let Sanchez have it on the way to the dugout. I didn't swear, I just said LOOK AT YOUR THIRD BASE COACH? YOU SHOULD HAVE SCORED! THIS IS WHY THIS TEAM IS TERRIBLE .........so they "banned" me. I was back a week later, they've never refused me (maybe the NFL has facial recognition software). I wondered that about the cup throwing guy in the Pistons game. Banned for life, but honestly, if he dressed a little different and didn't wear a hat, would they really recognize him? (by the way, he and Ron Artest are now friends) Banning this guy is ridiculous. He did nothing controversial. Maybe the NFL has decided that views of their stadiums are copyrighted or something.
