  1. I love that guy. First time I ever heard him. Love at first sight.
  2. But they love this. Because they hope he gets nailed and gets out of their way, but they can use this for political hay. This is their dream come true.
  3. I think President Biden or President Harris, or President Newsom would pardon him actually, with some major conditions - to avoid the embarrassment of having an ex-President behind bars and to stop bloodshed.
  4. I didn't think that you liked that. Not for a second. They also grew up in a city with pretty dirty air (in their youth) and I am sure that didn't help.
  5. Ever clean a cart machine head with a long cotton swab in a studio where smoking was allowed?
  6. Both of my parents and all of their brothers & sisters (12 total) smoked, except one. 7 have died from lung disease (my dad died of mesothelioma, which was from asbestos). Both my parents did quit back in the early 80s. One of my uncles was like your mom, even with lung cancer, on oxygen and in terrible pain, never really stopped. He figured "what's the point now?". When we were younger we'd say it was bad but he believed it was some kind of conspiracy of some kind to make people stop. The one uncle I have who never ever smoked (not even once, never even tried once) is still alive, 94 years old- lives in Somerville, Mass and shovels the walk ups for several neighbors when it snows (they don't have driveways there). The man still works too (paints boats, fixes small things a couple times a week) and the only medication he takes is for the arthritis in his hands, when he needs it. He's still sharp as a tack too. A memory like Gordie Howe's before his stroke. Dude's a dynamo. Tells us young ones (my cousins in their 60s) "you're all soft, all a yas"
  7. Do you think the air quality today in Philly was better or worse than riding with your smoking parents in the car with the windows rolled up back in the 70s?
  8. but a cheesy Muzak version, not the elegant real one.
  9. The First Lady of Bossa Nova has passed away at 83. Astrud Gilberto was never supposed to be a star. When her husband Joao & Stan Getz were recording their first (and only) studio album, they knew they had an international hit with The Girl From Ipanema, but had doubts that it would be played on American radio with Portuguese lyrics and Joao, who didn't speak much English, suggested that his wife, who'd never sung professionally, but sang around him all the time, be the person to help translate and sing the English version. The version with her vocals launched a Bossa Nova craze in the U.S., the U.K. and other countries like Germany, France and Japan. It is THE standard for all Bossa Nova songs. After her divorce from Joao, she launched a solo career and sang songs in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian and Japanese. I've grown to love this music over the years, it's completely soothing. I love her voice. It was perfectly unpolished and warm, but slightly detached. An accidental Bossa Nova legend. Descanse Em Paz, Astrud.
  10. I want you to understand and realize this before even thinking of doing something wrong. Joumana is always watching. ALWAYS !
  11. I am kind of wondering, with the content, if this is it. Feels like a last album Doesn't mean he won't tour and it doesn't mean that he wouldn't realease songs or eps or film music, but the album kind of plays out like a "it's been great, thanks, see you later". He always wanted to feature more guitars in the mix. but thought being the anti-guitar band was the hook (and it kind of was the hook). I had a conversation with him once and the subject of Prefab Sprout came up and it turns out he's as big a fan of the album "Two Wheels Good" as I am and he said that he played the track on the vinyl "Goodbye Lucille" so much that it turned white. I asked him why he's never done a piano based cover - and he has actually worked on it but says the original is too good to touch it. Maybe he'll do a covers album, but I doubt we get another original pop album for a very long time from Ben, if at all. Ironically Paddy McAloon (Prefab Sprout) has been known to take over a decade between albums, and then only to honor a record contract and avoid getting sued.
  12. All she'll need to do is talk about some conspiracy bullspit and they'll eat it all up with a plastic spoon.
  13. HuffPost says he's panicking. Understand...........please.........NOTHING WILL REALLY HAPPEN TO HIM !
  14. I wonder if any younger people watch movies from the 70s or 80s and wonder when the characters get lost - why they don't just use their cellphones?
  15. Rick Rizz is good. He had the misfortune of following a legend who was forced out by some dirty dealing by someone at WJR, who was smart enough to wait a couple years before taking the gig because the one who followed Ernie would be unfairly treated.
  16. What if it's Fran Drescher's ?
  17. So, it's 1:30am and in the parking lot of suburban mall there are a series of gun shots............cars screeching, more gun shots and a loud clap of electricity and a van carrying Libyan terrorists crashes into a Photomat and the Photomat explodes and either the Libyans just give up or they're all killed in the van crash and the cops never show up? Hill Valley, California Police in 1985.........that's a major fail ! Sorry, HILL Valley. Mill Valley is where BJ was from on MASH.
  18. Sure they can. The kind that sit around watching Fox News all day thinking everyone is coming to get them. Always the victim, right? FOX NEWS: Hey, remember when you could hit your women, threaten gays and keep all "those people" out of your neighborhood, and nobody could stop you? Well you can't anymore - they're all coming to get you, you'd better arm yourself, there might be a black 7th grader selling candy for football helmet money or a lesbian food deliverer, Oh, the Humanity !!!!!! Hey, old white guy, nobody wants you. They don't care about our demo (I am 58 years old, we're over, we're through, we're the has-beens and the way we've treated everyone we should be) The only thing targeted to us is medicare ads on daytime TV (Christ, do they have enough of those?). You can keep your suburban castle and stupid lawn........nobody's coming to take those away. Nobody wants it. I hope someone walks on his lawn now - all he can do now is turn a hose on them and when it's 90 and humid, that's actually not a punishment.
  19. Man in Florida (White guy, 60) sees someone backing into his driveway a few feet. He runs outside with a loaded gun to start banging on the car and the SUV speeds away. It was someone who was just at his across-the-street neighbor's house, backing up to change directions to leave. I do that frequently. My neighbors across the street do that to my driveway as well. Never bothered me. Anyway, he goes over to the neighbor's house to scream at her - because, as a white man he is somehow always repressed and in danger, and when she comes out to talk to him as he is back on his driveway to ask him "what the **** are you doing?" he points that loaded pistol at her head. Then he calls 9/11. Claims she (with no weapon) threatened him. Only thing is, his own ****ing doorbell came caught him in a lie. He's had charges filed against him and his guns taken away. So , see BIDEN WANTS TO TAKE YOUR GUNS AWAY FOR NO REASON !
  20. Lorenzen was not on the opening day roster.
  21. So wait, our starting rotation to begin the season was Rodriguez, Turnbull, Wentz, Boyd and Manning and only 2 of them are left standing. Wow, just like last year. Wonder how Boyd and Wentz will go down. And we have a totally different training staff too! Cursed. I'm telling you, cursed. They lied about the District. They got even more tax breaks and they are still lying about The District. Build it like you promised, Chris, or the curse will stay.
  22. We've got Ben Folds new album (its pretty mellow and he only swears twice on the whole album, no f-bombs at all) as Pick Of The Week on Under The Radar Radio. We'll also have new music from Blur, Mike Doughty's Ghost Of Vroom, The Denver band Kiltro, Best Coast singer Bethany Cosentino, Tegan & Sara covering an Elvis Costello classic and Fontaines D.C. singer Grian Chatten. 7pm on www.annarbors107one.com and thisisqmusic.com. Come on down to Sonic Bliss......squash is on sale.
  23. I give McCarthy maybe until the end of July before he's out and they put some whack job in at Speaker. They might even try to make Trump or Tucker Carlson the Speaker.
  24. One of the Judges that Dump appointed struck down Tennessee's anti-drag law. Oh, the irony, sweetie.
