I was the same way. Wasn't sure I could get the game on 1270 online, so I got in my car and just drove around for an hour just to listen to the game. It'll be on FM today and maybe some of the more interesting new players will be playing. It's a nice day today so I will probably do the same for a little while. 1270 is literally called The Bet and the station is named after a casino betting sponsor. It's overload and other than a Tigers or Wings game I wouldn't want to listen. -

Didn't listen enough to notice, but in their defense they had a lot of offseason moves and new rules and getting to know players information to get out. Announcers need a little Spring Training too. -

My interest in sports has been waning for awhile now, mostly because of some of the awful people who are part of it and the over emphasis of legal gambling too. I still follow the local teams, but honestly, I hardly know any NHL players outside of Detroit anymore. I hate the NBA and college basketball because of all the prima donnas. Juwan Howard should have been fired. He threw a punch at someone as a Head Coach. So much for that higher standard, Michigan. College football is less appealing now, I mean I am a Michigan fan, but I really can't stand Jim Harbaugh, he's the biggest phony in sports since Rick Pitino (I know, they're all phonies). I will always follow baseball because it's like a religion, in a way, and it's what I have always done, but I found last year that in July when I discontinued my MLB TV subscription, I really didn't miss it that much. Having a horrible team was a big part of that. Maybe part of it this Decade of Suck in Detroit. I played along last year ($10 at a time), and I did really well (because it was only $10 at a time and my future was never at stake), I think the most I ever bet was $50 - on Tampa to beat KC in the Super Bowl, and I turned a $10 NFL playoff parlay into $160 thanks to the Cowboys and Packers choking), The $10 bets on the over 5.5 goals in NHL games was easy money. Probably won 6.5 out of every 10 times, but only $10 at a time. They wised up this season and you rarely see even a 6 these days. Too many NFL games are coming down to some very very shady officiating, officiating so bad that it lends credence to those who are saying it's all fixed. I stopped playing along this year. I was breaking even the first few weeks of the NFL season, but too many games came down to odd officiating that it just wasn't fun anymore. You have thousands and thousands of guys betting their mortgage and bill money on heavy bets. Something tragic is gonna happen and you can bet there is going to be a player scandal somewhere. Greed ruins everything. Always has, always will. And I am so burned out on the ads for betting. Every one of the people in those ads just sounds like the "degenerate gambler". They're worse than drug dealers. -

I watched Channel 4's sports and they showed a couple of highlights from yesterday...............THEY DIDN'T SHOW THE TRIPLE PLAY ! Does anyone have video of it. -
Alabama basketball Brandon Miller, who supplied a gun that wound up being used in the murder of a young woman, and is getting away with it (because he claimed he had no idea a crime would be committed) thought it would be a good idea during the player introductions Saturday to mimic a police pat down. The crowd thought it was great. This country is so fucking sick.

Polly Samson agrees with you.

I like a lot of Pink Floyd music, but I do have to separate the artist from the art. Same thing with Jack Kerouac, who was a great writer, but just a horrible human being. I would say the same about Lou Reed, but let's face it, Lou hit the right note about 4 or 5 times in his whole life, and other than that he was just about the most untalented person to ever hit it big in music. Overrated as a musician and certainly as a man (just a little sidenote - Lou would him women in public and brag and laugh about it).

Wow, looks like the creator of Dilbert if picking up where angry racist Gallagher left off when he died.

Gee Ron.......................Crime, boy, I don't know

The way I read it is they didn't just clear snow off of their cars, they deliberately blew it on to his property. But it didn't look like that and it was mentioned they threw snow in his yard. I don't know why throwing snow into a yard would even bother anyone, but throwing or blowing it on to someone's driveway or walk after they had cleared it - yeah, that would be a total dick move. My next door neighbor, the neighbor on his other side would always blow snow onto his driveway and sidewalk after he'd cleared it and it did it on purpose (mean, drunk idiot)........ My neighbor got revenge the following spring when his son stopped by. Told him to maybe miss the curb a little bit in his Cherokee and maybe drive on the guy's grass a little bit.........he did it on a day it was raining...........you could see the tracks all Summer. Revenge is best served cold, but I doubt the guy was sober enough to even notice. Probably thought he did it himself. Immature, but certainly better than shooting someone.

First Spring Training Game = Thanksgiving Rest of Spring Training = Holiday Season Opening Day = Christmas/Hanukkah Home Opner = HAPPY NEW YEAR ! End of May = Hangover, all resolutions broken -
Repulicans want a resolution to name the AR-15 our "national gun". This 250-year experiment has failed.

It sounds like, from what I read, he wasn't the only person they bullied.

Can't wait to see the first batting order. It really could be just about anything at this point. I can't wait to hear the game, is it on 1270's website or do I need to go sit in my car on this snowy day to hear it? -
Two things about the influence of Repo Man #1, If I saw a plain can just marked "FOOD" I would buy it. Also, if I saw a neatly displayed stack of well-placed cans at a store, I felt a sudden urge to knock it over.............NOW THAT'S PUNK ROCK ! Now, lets go do those crimes, Lets go get sushi and not pay ! (I used to like these guys)
-
There's a scene in Repo Man that comes to mind regarding John Wayne, but a gay slur word is used so I won't post it here.

Fuck this guy. I just can't stand him. Just can't get enough attention, can he? Just go away.........Forever. Oh, and he SUCKED as Jeopardy host, it was unwatchable.

There is a BIG BIG BIG BIG difference in the amount of training they get and just some dude on a college campus. How about cracking down on the people supplying guns to those who can't get them? Might be a start.
-
When Republicans held public meetings they banned guns there. But they think college students should be free to walk around campuses with guns? college students. i can tell you this with complete confidence. college kids are too stupid and immature to be walking around with guns. I include myself in that when I was that age. Does that mean they can go into football games with guns? If they allow that I guarantee something really really bad will happen, but they seem to be guns everywhere all the time (except where Ron DeSantis is speaking, of course). Fuckin' dumbass white people.

New York is actually a really safe city when you consider the population. Stay out of Central Park at night. Lots of places to hide and not heavily patrolled at night because it's technically "closed" (as much as you can close an open un-gated area). You take the Central Park at night factor out of it and New York is actually extremely safe for the population it has. But you know, can't tell that to a Conservative because it's a cultural melting pot and well, no way THAT can be safe, right?

Florida is a disaster.

And I still want to know how the MSU shooter got his gun. Who gave it to him, lent it to him or sold it to him. Whomever that is needs to be charged with Accessory To Murder. If someone has to come to you to get a gun because they can't buy it themselves, then you should be on the hook when they use it. That includes gun shows and independent gun dealers. Fuck them. I've had enough of their bullshit. They've had too many chances to do the right thing and they go for the money instead. Time for them to pay.
-
Every time that racist shit stain from Florida goes to other cities to talk about crime shit like this should be brought up.
-
He had a "lengthy history" or run ins with the law including gun chargers. HE'S ONLY 19 ! HEY RON, WHY THE FUCK WAS HE OUT IN PUBLIC? WHY THE FUCK WASN'T HE LOCKED UP? How many people do you think Florida has locked up right now for non-violent drug possession. Overcrowded in the prisons? Don't give a shit, if people are going to live like animals when they have freedom, then they should live like animals in prison. This guy, like the MSU shooter, had no business being out. 19 and a lengthy history. Hey Ron, maybe you should stop worrying about immigrants who just want jobs and start focusing on your violent fucked up state. But, the drag queens, what about the drag queens, the real danger in Florida, right?
