  1. Demanding that his number be retired is a big ask (should have been retired for Jason Hanson).
  2. if they did sign Carson Wentz, that would be interesting to have the #1 and #2 pick from the same season at the same position when most draft experts were saying either/or. Maybe they draft a Hendon Hooker or an Aidan O'Connell but don't use them as the #2 QB, let them watch. I know that is very tricky, trying to keep 3 QBs on the roster, but if they drafted a rookie for a team that is ready to win now, they'd be smart to buffer them for a year. Matt Ryan wants one more shot at glory. Carson Wentz is trying to prove he can still play. I wanted Taylor Heinecke, but he went to the Falcons.
  3. Lions luck would be that they look great, things are humming along the first 3 weeks and then Goff goes down and we STILL DONT HAVE A BACK UP. Carson Wentz with an Offensive Line might be great. Matt Ryan - being a game manager might be great. A rookie with no experience stepping in to run a somewhat complicated offense that is very dependent on timing over raw talent would be a disaster.
  4. What if they sign Bobby Wagner now?
  5. They're going to trade 6 and 18 to get up to #3.
  6. Yep, 48-17. Hip was responsible for 6 touchdowns that night. 4 passing and 2 rushing. Talk about a great home debut. OH MY GOD, THE WHOLE GAME IS ON YOUTUBE...............We probably thought those graphics were so amazing and cutting edge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeHukrwnwWw Wow, look at all that haze in the Silverdome, it's almost all cigarette smoke
  7. First Lions game I went to (that I remember) was the Monday Night game against the Bears..........The Eric Hipple game. We beat the snot out of them. Without looking it up, I think we won 48-17..................Let me look it up.
  8. My first VIVID Lions memory was a game vs. The Baltimore Colts. I was about 11 years old and I had gone to Lakeside Mall with my mom. While she was shopping I was watching the Lions game on the wall of TV's at JC Penney. Colts have a slim lead with just a few seconds left............all they have to do is punt the ball away and my mom said Lets Go, right now. By the time we got to the car the Lions announcers were celebrating a victory. This guy covers that play very well in this entertaining video.
  9. 1992 because they were coming off an appearance in the NFC Championship.
  10. The money is being moved around. Nobody's taking a nearly $9 million pay cut when any play could be your last. Maybe the added some extra years or something.
  11. The players are buying in now. CJGJ could have gotten more elsewhere, don'cha think?
  12. Plus, do you understand how many ways they can go in the draft? A Defensive Lineman, a really good LB, young TE, RB, maybe even QB. Are they actual contenders for the, you know, now?
  13. Did you see Chauncey Gardner Johnson quote? "Now get this, Honky. You tell Raphael that I ain't taking no jive from no Western Union messenger. You tell that asshole if he got something to tell me to get his ass down here himself." Dude is ready to play !
  14. Wow, really upgraded that secondary. So who do they pick in the first round? Defensive Line? QB?
  15. Cameron will be an upgrade over anything they currently have and I am sure by the end of the season he will sound more polished. It's Spring Training for everyone! Has anyone seen Comerica with it's new dimensions yet?
  16. He still looks so young...........He's the guy that helped us get Miggy and Miggy seems so much older, he's only 4 years older.
  17. Why are they talking about Cameron Maybin and showing that picture of some 22 year old kid?
  18. I know he was at the WBC for a short time, but it seems like they really aren't playing Schoop much. For a guy who seems to always get off to slow starts (.229 over his career in the first month and then .221 in September), you'd think they'd want him to get up and running quickly. Are you reading anything into that? Or is he hurt? I am starting to wonder if he is an end of Spring Training cut. There's more to gain by letting young guys take their lumps. All I've heard about him is that he lost weight and he couldn't buy a hit in the WBC.
  19. You missed that one in Baltimore. You fell asleep after having dental work that morning. You don't remember that?
  20. Not that far back, only from 1960 in the series to 1958 in the book. The series was good but they took out some details and added the extra major character for the TV series. They missed out on some of the details in the series about when he went back at first like how fascinated he was at how good food tasted in 1958. Plus he makes a few practice runs in the book that I thought set the story up better. If you like James Franco you should watch the series because I am not so sure you're going to see James Franco in anything for a very long time, if at all.
  21. You know that probably at least 2/3rds of "normal" Republican politicians want Trump locked up for a long time. They can use it for political gains but not have to actually kiss his ass anymore. He should be tried for Sedition and he's signaling the same thing ahead of this indictment right now and he WILL get a violent reaction. Fuck him. Lock him up, he's 100% responsible for 7 who died on January 6th - it is all on him.
