  1. The League doesn't give a solitary shit about player health and safety. Make money, Money good, Make More. Gimme. If the NFL gave a shit about players they would not schedule games 3 days after another game. These Thursday night games should only have teams that had a bye week the previous week. Just add a second bye week for each team.....this way the players get an extra week of rest and recovery, the teams will have a better chance of having their rosters more often, the quality of the games gets way better, the NFL season lasts 19 weeks (won't hurt the league at all), with two bye weeks more teams will get national focus with fewer games. If they can make a schedule with 31 teams work, they can make that work. These guys should never play on only 3 days rest. Hell, it takes 3 days just to recover. The only reason the Dolphins are going to get any kind of fine is public opinion, not out of the goodness of Roger's heart. You'll see all the talking heads today talking about how horrible that was, the same networks that use hard hits to promote their upcoming games. Some of this responsibility is on Tua's shoulders too, by the way. Like Ryan Shazier's neck injury was his fault for hitting a guy with the crown of his helmet -- intentionally That reminded me of Jahvid Best's injury. They are talking about foam Guardian Caps on ESPN. The league uses them in practice and high school teams use those some places. The NFL doesn't want to cover up the helmet logos and they don't want to lose the sound of the helmets clacking together............marketing more important than health. I doubt Tua plays this year............or possibly ever again. He's gonna be suffering from head pain, light sensitivity, nausea for a very long time. Every concussion makes you more vulnerable for the next and usually the next one is worse...........take that and add the fact that they were 3 days apart and he probably did permanent damage last night. I question why I watch this game. It's barbaric. Why don't Rugby and Aussie Football have these kind of head injuries........they don't even wear helmets and they hit each other just as hard. Is it because they respect each other and attempt not to hurt each other? Took Frank Gifford a year to come back from the Chuck Bednarik hit and that is one of the most famous and celebrated photos in NFL history (Chuck standing over Gifford, who looks dead on the turf) How long until Roger calls the ESPN hotline and tells them to stop talking about it?
  2. Dave Brandon will be issuing a statement on Tua at 1 am
  3. You want privacy? Then destroy you cellphone, all your TVs, all your computers. Never go online again. Get rid of your car and get a bicycle. Go live in a little cabin in the woods, but even then, every time you go into town for supplies or food, there will be a camera somewhere that sees you.
  4. It's not alright, but you know nothing will stop them from doing it. Just being realistic. Hoover spied on everyone he could the whole time he was in power, it's just easier to do it to everyone now. Nobody has that capability and doesn't use it. But Snowden picks Russia? RUSSIA? What a joke.
  5. why does it matter anymore. Coolio's dead. What's the point of any of this?
  6. I guess the Big 12 fined the school $50K
  7. Did the Lions hire the Tigers training staff?
  8. I wonder what percentage of Russians want Putin dead. You know, if they could be honest. The rest of the world just needs to band together and end him.
  9. Pet Peeve? Idiots that live in a coastal area that KNOW a Category 4 (maybe 5) hurricane is coming with 12-20 foot storm surge don't leave and have to be rescued.......................putting rescuers' lives in danger...........rescuers who probably lost property too. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid, Stupid, Stupid...............................YOU WERE WARNED FOR DAYS. Why are people so goddamned stupid? Not talking about people who are feeble, talking about able-bodied people . Did they think the media was making this up or something? Were they worried someone what loot their house............YOUR HOUSE IS RUINED, THERE'S NOTHING LEFT TO LOOT AND EVEN IF THERE WAS, THAT'S WHY YOU HAVE INSURANCE.
  10. Maybe the drunk idiot should be charged with Assault.
  11. This ain't the olden days. Coaches get very little rope these days. Best thing he has going for him is that they don't have a superstar to piss off like a Russell Wilson. He has to show more competence at game management. I think he will, but he does this kind of thing 2 or 3 more times and he's a more animated version of Caldwell - good coach, bad game manager. They won't stick with that forever, 6 years or not.
  12. He keeps screwing up game management he will be.
  13. Week 4 Coach Hot Seat Rankings. It's a tough room, and with Sean Payton available next year (and looking uncomfortable on TV), there could be quite a bidding war. All of the teams on this list have a fair amount of talent but can't seem to put it together. 1A. Kliff Kingsbury, Arizona - The usual M.O. was hot start, fade late..........the start is not hot, he's in trouble. No ass blisters quite yet. Did he ever really deserve the gig, he's never been a successful head coach, has he? 1B. Nathaniel Hackett, Denver - Yes, they are 2-1 but this ain't working. Sometimes you see people who were good coordinators but terrible head coaches (Marty Morningwheg anyone?). Some question if he was even a good O.C.. Russ has a shelf life and it's being wasted here. Writing's on the wall already. 3. Matt Rhule, Carolina - Well, they got a win at least. He'll be at Auburn next year. 4. Brandon Staley, LA Chargers - Here we go again with the disappointing Chargers. His handling of his injured QB was messy and they have a lot of talent that never seems to congeal. Sean Payton is out there. He could probably do wonders here. 5. Josh McDaniels, Las Vegas - They did a lot of roster building this offseason and now are the only 0-3 team in the NFL, in what is supposed to be a tough division. LA & Denver have been disappointing, so there was a chance. Rich Bisaccia did a really good job last year, they should have kept him. Raiders gonna Raider. One and Done would be so Raider. (Ron Rivera, Frank Reich, Mike Vrable & Robert Saleh are hanging out in the hallway.....Dan Campbell just pulled into the parking lot)
  14. Florida has two Republican Senators and a Republican Governor and several Republican reps. This is why Biden, who is now in control of Obama's weather machine, has pointed that hurricane at them. Biden needs to be prosecuted for this.
  15. Wow, the Bears really hate Justin Fields, don't they?
  16. Yep...............have fun buddy. You'll never have a private moment again as long as you live.
  17. While Snowden did bring up some good points about our own government spying on us, anyone with half a brain already knew they were doing that and there was no way they'd have that kind of technology without using it. But other than that, he can go fuck off and die with Putin. Hope they both die an agonizing death.
  18. As I have said, the performance of Jeff Okudah is absolute proof of how bad a coach Matt Patricia was and how he and his buddy set this franchise back 5 or 6 years. Patricia is a bad human too. We did dodge a bullet with Kenny G it seems.
  19. He should not have played the next week, at the very least. Been playing football all of your life and instead of doing for the team, he tried to be the hero. I think Sloan could have gotten out of bounds too, but with his speed that was not a guarantee. This Crowell play always makes me think of Titus Young intentionally running another receiver's routes. Did he ever play for the Lions again after that?
  20. We put the nail in the White Sox coffin..............I LOVE THAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Saw the end of that Bills game. The receiver, Isisah McKenzie could have sprinted out of bound with about 2 seconds left at about the 42 yard line. yep, that's a 58/59 yard field goal attempt or one last chance for Allen to throw a hail mary, but he stupidly stayed in bounds. Germaine Crowell did that in Minnesota once and the team should have benched him for the next game because of it. A very J.R. Smith type of move.
  22. The 2nd Round has always been a problem for the Lions. A few have worked like Louis Delmas and D'Andre Swift. They knew they might have to wait on Paschal and they like Joseph and were probably planning on him having a learning year, but he's probably going to end up in the rotation now. Not too upset with their 1-2 record. Lost to an Eagles team that is one of 3 undefeateds left (and the Lions played them better than the other two). Lost on the road in a tight game where their known weaknesses were exposed. Still lack depth on defense. They are only one game out of first and that's what's important to focus on right now. It's all there's for the taking still.
  23. Nathaniel Hackett is not going to make it through the season.
  24. It's also a League record, right?
  25. Jalen Hurts looks is the leading MVP candidate in the NFL right now, and that should be somewhat encouraging as a Lions fan One thing we knew going into the season is they are still building and don't have much depth and we're seeing that sting them already. Goff is not the problem. This team needs to really focus on defense in the next offseason. 2 LBs, at least 1 CB and I really hope that Levi & Alim and Josh come in and do something because it would be really annoying to have to spend more draft picks on the D-Line in the Top 3 round yet again
