  1. I only watch Fox's pregame show. How are the talking heads covering the Tua thing? These networks are bought and paid-for by the NFL, do they dare talk honestly about the elephant in the room?
  2. Jonah Jackson Amon-Ra St. Brown D'Andre Swift (this guy's already done) D.J. Chark Hockenson is hurting (and hasn't done that much anyway - if he plays he'll end up getting hurt today). Josh Reynolds is hurting. Yikes..............they're gonna get depantsed today, aren't they? Someone from out of nowhere......Quntez Cephus, Tom Kennedy, Brock Wright, Justin Jackson...........show your worth. The kicker has hit a 51 yard field goal. He's got 3 career attempts Why did we pick Seibert over Riley Patterson again? Didn't Seibert get hurt last year? Patterson was 13 out of 14 for us last year...........He's doing well for Jacksonville this year. So when do Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, Mo Seider, Lucas Raymond and Jakub Vrana get hurt for the whole season. That seems to be how it works around here now. We can't have nice things. Why am I so negative? Oh yeah, I'm a Lions fan.
  3. Matt Patricia's face on rolls of toilet paper.
  4. Telling you, its a curse for teams that play in District Detroit. This is punishment for the Illitches not keeping their word. All who enter will suffer. The God Of Injury will strike down our players until they build what they promised.
  5. Here we are at the crossroads of We Are Different Lane and Same Old Lines Blvd. The first Lions game I remember was when I was 12 and they were about to lose to the BALTIMORE Colts. The 5-7 Lions were down 10 -6 with 10 seconds left the Colts (9-3) punter was at his own 10 yard line and instead of running around for a safety and running out the clock, they tried to punt - the punt was blocked by Leonard Thompson who also returned it for an easy TD. That was in 1977. I've been following ever since and how many times have we seen this scenario where we know the Lions are better than a team and they absolutely should and need to win it only to get beat. I know every fanbase can point to a few games like this, but for us it's kind of the norm. Time to break that cycle. If you lose this one, your rabid fanbase who has embraced you quite loudly this year is probably out the door. History is not on our side today. A lot of excuses in the air (injuries). I don't care. Be different and win this fucking game.
  6. Indiana is terrible, but they will probably give Michigan fits next week. Kenneth Walker to Mel Tucker is like Tom Brady to Bill Bellichick. I think we all knew that Minnesota would f it up at some point, but I thought it would be later than this I called Illinois as a sleeper team a few weeks ago (because the B10 West is awful), and to me they are kind of in the driver's seat right now, but the next two weeks (hosting Iowa and Minnesota) will show if they are for real (their coach is a good coach). Wisconsin outright sucks this year. I was leaning towards them being the default winner on that side (water finds its level), but they are awful. Wonder who their coach will be next year. Jim Leonhard? Purdue can make some waves this year too, until they f it up. The November 12th game Purdue @ Illinois may determine the West winner who will get clobbered by the east winner. Michigan played a good game, but the refs sure helped them. 1 - Ohio State 2 - Penn State - 2 weeks from today at the Big House. Prove it time. 3 - Michigan - Seems like Penn State and Ohio State are the season 4 - Maryland - Maybe they actually are decent 5 - Purdue - The fooled me, Jerry........The fooled me. 6 - Minnesota - Row Row Row your boat gently down the Decmeber 23rd Bowl Stream 7 - Illinois - A competent coach may actually change things 8 - Iowa - High school offenses have more imagination 9 - Michigan State - No K-9, No Good 10 - Wisconsin - The really really suck this year (maybe Lance Leipold from Kansas lands here) 11 - Rutgers - A lot of TV money. 12 - Indiana - Not good but will probably make Michigan sweat (at home they do that) 13 - Northwestern - Like the 70s 14 - Nebraska - Tom Osborne is only 85, maybe he'll come back.
  7. Does Corum start to get mentioned for the H-Word ?
  8. But they didn't have to get out of Florida altogether. Just away from the shore. As far as not having internet or smartphones, they do have neighbors and if they see all the neighbors packing up and leaving, they don't ask why? Plus they had sirens going off for hours. Seems that if you have the money to live near a beach that you probably have enough to own a car or make some kind of arrangements to get out. I know not everyone can, but most of the people that were killed or had to be rescued probably had the ability to get away from the shore and they chose not to. Nowhere to go? B.S., plenty of places they could shelter that weren't that far away from Ft. Myers & Naples. I don't know why. I just don't get it. What is it? Do they think they're being lied to by the media and every city, county and state official? Do they think dying at home is noble or something? You had 4-5 days to pack up your important papers and irreplaceables and get out.
  9. I think they need to sign 2 everyday outfielders. I am not banking on Kerry Carpenter. I mean, I hope he is the real deal, but I just have a Andy Dirks/Brennan Boesch flash in the pan vibe. Hope I'm wrong. And I would not count on seeing Austin Meadows next year. Maybe he's fine by ST, and that would be awesome, but I think they need to prepare for the worst. Better to have too many players than too few. Miggy is the fly in the ointment there because maybe everyone comes back healthy and looks good after we sign a couple guys........gonna need to use guys at DH and Miggy blocks that.
  10. And guys had to be rescued from an ice shelf that broke away in Lake Huron on a 53 degree day.............. Oh, April in the D !
  11. And kids are stranded at the airport because a crooked travel agent ripped off their Spring Break Money
  12. And Bonderman's change up is looking much better.
  13. Back in 1996 I was on a ride at the New Mexico State Fair, I was actually doing a live break on the air......it was one of those spinning rides - that I don't like and it came to a pretty abrupt stop and me and the promotions guy riding with me kind of looked at each other like "that's not right".............for about 2 weeks after that I had headaches, dizzy spells and constant nausea...........I didn't know it then but I probably had a concussion from the whiplash effect even though nothing hit me in the head. I have not gone on a spinning ride ever since. It really sucked.
  14. don't you find it interesting that bill "accidentally" texted the wrong brian which lead to a team in his division getting in trouble.
  15. I don't know that answer, but when you see a guy who can't walk straight, it might just be a good idea to be on the safe side. Players don't want to be seen as soft, they are usually not going to tell you to sit them. With Shane Morris, I am absolutely 100% sure that Brady Hoke did not see him stumble and wobble from the sideline (a very tough angle to see everything when you are focusing on the next play and not the huddle), and since he didn't wear a headset it took another play to get word to him what happened. They did pull him out of that game when they realized it, he didn't want to come out. Saying it was a neck injury isn't much better for Miami because that's not exactly a good look either. They failed badly, but Tua has to own it too.
  16. No, a game with that speed will have unintended head injuries, but a lot of players go headhunting now because of helmets.........not that players weren't brutal before, but they didn't headhunt nearly as much. Any sport will have unintended injuries, but the checking in the NHL for a while was more about hurting someone than strategy of working a guy off the puck. That has mostly gone away in recent years, but it still happens. The NHL has gotten much harsher in recent years on penalizing players for dirty hits instead of legitimate hits. Think of the kind of shit Matt Cooke used to do. He'd probably get year-long suspensions now. When Krowall would hit someone, he'd throw his hip in the their body......that's more legitimate, even though it bordered on excessive sometimes.
  17. yes but passing the protocols are dodgy too because, as Damian Woody just said, players purposely lower the bar when they take the initial baseline test, they intentionally do poorly on what they can control, so they can pass the real test. This is partly on the player too. The Dolphins fucked up big time here.
  18. Do you trust them? I don't. There's money to be made here....... If there are signs of Gross Motor Instability...........where it's a head, back or neck injury, you are supposed to basically sit that player. So even if it was a neck injury, if it was severe enough for him to lose his legs like that, what the hell is he doing going back out there? The Buffalo game - he hit the back of his head HARD on the ground. It's fucking obvious as hell. Games with 3 days rest are so irresponsible in the first place. Read about Johan Franzen's life now. I hope Tua isn't facing that.
  19. Oh yeah, Shane Morris "slipped".................
  20. I don't trust doctors employed by the Dolphins. He couldn't walk straight. How about being safe rather than sorry. Nah, we're 3-0........get out there !
  21. I lot of hockey players believe that helmets have invited way more cheap shots..........but the chance of even accidentally cracking your head on the ice or boards even on a non hit is too great........I mean, the NHL had a player die from a non-targeted head injury.
  22. Not that I had a ton of respect for Jon Jansen already, but I have zero now - because he's pretty much defending the Dolphins "How do you know he had a head injury on Sunday?". Oh, I don't know, Jon, maybe because he was dizzy and stumbling............might have been a clue that it wasn't a back or neck injury.
  23. Did the Dolphins coach really say "just a concussion" ? Did he really say that?
  24. Sorry, it did hit the ground, but it was not as hard as the whiplash just before it.
  25. By the way, Tua did not actually hit his head on the ground. The concussion last night happened when he got hit and his neck snapped back so violently.
