The guy has done a great job, why would you want to bury him in Nebraska. He could be in the mix for the soon-to-be open Auburn job (I think Matt Rhule ends up there).

Miggy contract the WORST in MLB history
Motor City Sonics replied to AlKaline's topic in Detroit Tigers
I have a feeling that Scott Harris would not have made that deal. I think he's gonna be more cutthroat. You need to decide - is it more important to constantly be good or worry who's hat someone will wear in the Hall Of Fame. -

My Week 3 Power Rankings\ 1. Buffalo - not even close, only a true Buffalo choke job stops them from winning it all 2. Kansas City - Who needs Hill? 3. LA Chargers - just can't get over the KC hump, but close 4. Philadelphia - okay, for real when healthy. Their fans still suck, though and I hate seeing them experience joy 5. Miami - Fun to watch, I'll give 'em that. Big test this week. 6. LA Rams - not clicking yet. 7. San Francisco - Jimmy G, different team. 8. Baltimore - Fluke of a loss? I wouldn't sleep on this team. 9. Tampa Bay - They feel like a house of cards, don't they? Weak division 10. Arizona - For now. 11. DETROIT - Yep, I went there. Offensive isn't even 85% of what it could be yet. Just outscore 'em 12. Minnesota - Always gonna be in that middle third with Cousins, like lukewarm oatmeal. You like that? 13. Green Bay - Not impressed with win over Bears. 14. Jacksonville - Wow, a real coach who isn't a sociopath 15. NY Giants - A Fraudulent 2-0. Hi Kenny G....... 16. Dallas - Middle of the Pack and I hate even giving them that much. 17. New Orleans - Jameis needs to calm down and be a game-manager, if that's possible. 18. Washington - Will the real Carson Wentz stand up. Oh yeah, this IS him. 19. Cincinnati - Knew they wouldn't have a charmed life again, but not good, Bob 20. Cleveland - They just feel like a team that is going to linger around here until the scumbag plays 21. Denver - I know what it's like to see what so many Lions coaches looked like from a distance 22. New England - Fuck Matt Patricia. Just fuck him and everything about him 23. Pittsburgh - Screaming to replace Mitchell Trubisky took a whole two weeks! 24. Las Vegas - Fuck Josh McDaniel too and every other arrogant ex-Patriots coach. It was always Brady 25. Tennessee - After the Buffalo game they are cowering in the corner like my dog during a thunderstorm 26. NY Jets - Congratulations to Joe Flacco for getting the win on his 60th birthday ! 27. Indianapolis - They started in my top 6. Their owner caught with a briefcase full of opiates. He'll need 'em 28. Seattle - Seeing Nathaniel Can't Hackett coach again really takes luster off the first win. 29. Carolina - Matt Rhule will be a great fit for Auburn next season 30. Chicago - Needed a mud bowl to win (if Jimmy G started they would have lost that one) 31. Houston - I'm gonna say it. Yep, I am a fucking asshole for going here, but Houston we have a problem. What a dick. 32. Atlanta - What number will Bryce Young wear next year?

Based on how Hurts looked against Minnesota............maybe the Lions are better than we thought. Remember, last year, when the Lions were early in their season, just coming off one of the most gut-churning losses against Baltimore (thanks refs), and a bad loss in Chicago? They went into Minnesota, still not clicking, still in disarray with the offense and it took the Vikings hitting at last-second 54 yard field goal to beat them (Campbell cried) Then Minnesota came here, with everything still to play for and the Lions beat 'em. Even in the 0-16 season, they lost in Minnesota 12-10 - the difference being Dan Orlovsky's most famous play. I think the Lions have a good chance of winning this game. Why not? Cousins isn't mobile.........if they keep pressure on him like they did Wentz, he's not gonna have time to find Jefferson. And if Jefferson has a good game the Lions can still win because their offense has looked outstanding and they have missed several opportunities so far. They could have scored over 45 in both of their games, and at some point Goff & Chark are going to click and when that happens look out (cutting out the drops might help). I still see this Lions team as a 7-10 team. But they don't need a star QB and Goff might be fine. He has his bad moments, but look around the league. The second half of this seasons when they bring in Jameson, it's going to be very interesting to see how it all looks. I know a lot of people want that big name QB, but this team desperately needs LB help. The D-line seems much better (and has injuries), the secondary is solid with Okudah playing like a first round pick (I knew it was Patricia's fault). Those LBs are the weak spot. With 2 first round picks and more dead money coming off the phantom salary cap, they should be able to add at least 2 starting-level LBs next year. Hopefully Barnes gets it together. They may not win in Minny Sunday, but I don't think they'll make it easy for the Vikings and the Lions are going to be a pain in the ass all season. Not worried about Seattle. I think that was more on Nathaniel Hackett being a terrible coach than anything else.

There's no way the new boss can fire any of us now.........Not after this ! -
too bad hutch will probably be out for the seasons..........you know, because God hates Detroit.
-
Looks like he's doing EXACTLY what he did in Detroit.
-
Well share, we can still live bet !

Why are you talking about this in the past tense, they're still in the first quarter.

Really hoping Jalen Hurts runs wild on the Vikings. It would make me feel better about the first loss.

Cohen has a kind of a Steinbrenner vibe to him. That would turn a lot of people off. -

A town where all the CVS's and Walgreen's didn't shut down? (Joking, just joking, though a lot of them did because the DA said he would turn his back on shoplifting). -

Working for Theo doesn't make him Theo (See: Matt Patricia), but I like the hire. He went outside the organization and grabbed a rising star before someone else did. I'll let you know how I feel about this hire at the end of the 2026 season, I figure that would be a fair amount of time. Well.................We've got four young GMs in town that all had impressive resumes beforehand. They have all done well in their drafts, lets hope Mr. Harris does too. It's not about your first round pick, it's about your first ten rounds. You get 3 guys out of each draft that can make it to the majors (hitting .333), you're doing great. Al seemed to be hitting about .150 there, which equaled Tigers GMs since the early 80s. -
Since I don't believe any of the Monday night Head Coaches are even on a warm seat........ The new rankings. 1 - Frank Reich - Another terrible start. Colts are a good team and they are lucky to only be 1/2 game behind right now, but they have Kansas City next and a big division game vs. Tennessee after that. If they lose both, he could be out. MAY NOT SURVIVE THE SEASON 2. Matt Rhule - Carolina does not seem to be progressing once. I think he's got a little more leash because his QB is new, but just a little more. I think he'll be coaching Auburn next year. MAY NOT SURVIVE THE SEASON 3. Nathaniel Hackett - Yeah, Denver won yesterday, but they are a mess. Russ is 33 and has a shelf life. The Broncos are not going to give a second year to him if he bungles his way through this season. He'll be a one-and-done. PROBABLY SURVIVES THE SEASON 4. Kliff Kingsbury - Arizona got an OT win yesterday and everyone in the West is 1-1 now, so they are starting over. But it's all about the last month. ITS ALL ABOUT DECEMBER 5. Ron Rivera - With a dysfunctional management that has a scandal-ridden front office and a stadium that has raw sewage leak onto fans, it might be a bad look to fire a cancer survivor, but that 2-point decision, down by 8 with all the momentum ranks up there with some really dumb Lions coach decisions (I think of Bobby Ross going for 2, down by 4 late in the game in Arizona.....he should have been fired the next day). Riverboat Ron is in a division that could be won at 9-8 and he kind of broke their backs yesterday. SURVIVES THE SEASON. I don't think anyone else's seat is hot except Arthur Smith (roster is not his fault) and Mike McCarthy (because Sean Payton will be available February 9, 2023)

My first coach to get fired rankings Pre-Season 1 - Matt Rhule 2 - Kliff Kingsbury 3 - Mike McCarthy 4- Rober Saleh After Week 1 1 - Kliff Kingsbury 2 - Matt Rhule 3 - Nathaniel Hackett 4 - Arthur Smith Frank Reich will shoot up to #1 on Tuesday.
