Are the Lions better than the Bears? Absolutely. But I suffer from something called PLSD (Post Lions Stress Disorder). If you grew up watching them - you know. I recall a game in 2000. Lions were 9-6 - taking on the lowly 4-11 Bears at home. All they needed was a win against those lowly Bears and they were in the playoffs. Then Bears rookie kicker Paul Edinger lined up for a 54 yard field goal with 2 seconds left. His longest, to that date, was 51 yards. Wouldn't you know, he nailed it. Not only did it mean no playoffs for the Lions, but the Lions fired everyone and brought in Matt Millen - didn't make the playoffs for over a decade. That's kind of what I expect today -- a crushing disappointment. Sorry, this is a life time of PLSD. I hope I am wrong, but always expect the worse with this curse.

It would be easier if we had one team, just one team, do something good. The Lions have their shot today. I'm not expecting much there though........a life time of Lions PTSD.

Just wondering if Mr. Hahn knows how and when his family first came here. In the 19th Century a fair amount of Germans came here and at the time they were considered Undesirables. Eventually the assimilated into our culture and they culture influenced America...........just like every other culture, which is what makes this country great and interesting. Yep, there are a lot of illegals in El Paso. I don't think they wanted to leave their home countries just for kicks. With a worker shortage in this country, which is partly responsible for production and distribution delays and inflation, you'd think we can find them work. One crazy liberal in 1980 suggested opening our borders to immigrants so they can work here, pay taxes, earn citizenship and lay the groundwork for a new life here. That crazy liberal Ronald Reagan.

The Big Ten sucked this year. The 3rd best team was Penn State and Penn State was not good............ I don't think anybody Michigan or Ohio State played this year prepared them for the playoffs and it showed in the end. You put either one of those teams in the SEC, Big 12 or Pac 12 and they don't go unscathed.

Not drinking beer tonight. Not drinking Vodka Not drinking Bourbon or Scotch No Tequila, No Wine No Gin, Rum or Brandy. Instead I drink the tears of Ohio State fans everywhere ! Ummmmmm, Delicious. Such a heartbreaker too. Almost makes up for earlier. Certainly makes it easier to swallow............

Pet Peeve: Being a Detroit sports fan. We can't have anything nice. We went from 1984 - 2009 with a championship-caliber team in at least one sport the whole time. Now, we can't even make the playoffs with our pro teams and our college teams craps the bed when they get a shot at it and our hated rivals succeed. I know it means nothing in the day-to-day journey of life. If my team wins it all I still have to pay all my bills. If my teams lose I still have the same job, but Goddammit this really hurts. Can we just have something? It's not fair. It's not fair to have a decade of suck in all four sports.

Wow. Maybe the team already knows coach is leaving for the Colts gig. Or maybe they bought into their own hype too much (like the Lions last week). Big Ten sucked this year. I hope Georgia brings that point home tonight because as much as this game win or lose really won't affect my life, OSU winning the whole thing would make me sick.
