When you rub Lucy's belly she starts to flail her legs around (in happiness) and she got me right in the eye this morning, the good eye (I'm functionally blind in my left eye). This happened with another dog once, but it was worse - that put me out of commission for a few days (can't drive or read with my left eye). Silly dog.

Well, with a healthy Jared Goff this team could go 7-10. Without Goff, probably 2-15 or so. They need to pay attention to the releases this coming week. Boyle & Blough just aren't very good.

Funny how Dazed and Confused makes me feel so nostalgic though I didn't graduate until 1983 and I got bullied a lot throughout school because I was small and looked young for my age. I hated it, but I am nostalgic for it. It's strange. Maybe I just long for a second shot at youth, and for a time where things didn't ache so Goddamned much.

Oh, and the commercials on TV and cable that are not supposed to be louder? There's a catch to that. The first second of audio is not supposed to be louder, so the transition is not so startling. The rest of the ad can be louder though. They did cut down the amount of higher volume it could be, but it's still there, advertisers have a lot of pull.

That might have a lot to do with the processing actually. The broadcast of the game is coming from one place and the commercials are coming from somewhere else and radio has added secondary filters to process the sound. They now have their signal processed to sound good over a radio and the streaming version, which usually runs different commercials is processed to run on smaller speakers or headphones. The commercials are often coming from a third party server who does not have special processing to make it sound better on the smaller speakers or headphones, so it comes out as overbearing. It's not intentional, but it's also fixable but nobody is in a rush to fix it.

Here's a Pet Peeve that I think is universal. When you break out the grey duct tape and try to find the line where the end of it is. Then you have to try to pull the tape without ripping the tape (ripping it lengthwise). it's very frustrating.

I'm not a fan of Britney Spears. When I worked in Top 40 she was about 15 years old and let's just say not taking pictures that a minor should be taking, all with dear old Dad's blessing. I do root for her to make a bunch of money so her Dad can't steal it from her and if she gets stupid and blows it all, it's her money to do that with. The amount of Auto Tune on this I don't think is a stylistic choice here, it's just too overbearing. My guess is Elton felt bad for her and wanted her to make a lot of money, but come on Elton, why would you do this to one of your masterpieces? This is just truly awful (and I am sure it will be a hit because Top 40 is absolute garbage)

French Fries from the air fryer..............Overshoot the cooking time by about 3 minutes. I know I shouldn't be eating french fries but I made a massive amount of orange pao stir fry Monday........so that was dinner Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.........had to break it up, there is still one more meal's worth. I know, boring, but also easy.

Ever notice that there is a little type of bloop sound? That's triggered when someone actually answers. I answer because I am wondering if someone with an American accent will ever take the call. Never happens. Sometimes I like to fuck with them a little. They'll give you a little schpeel about my car warrantee about to expire and then they'll ask about the model of the car and I will say "well, you should know that, you called me, you said it was about to expire". Sometimes I will answer in a strange accent myself and there are other times I will say "you're calling a prison........we can set up a room for you if you'd like".

But also compare the price of higher education (adjusted for inflation) to today. Health Care and Higher Education have skyrocketed more than any other aspect, so actually it is fair.

And Mittens, who used religion to get out of the draft, harassed people who didn't serve in Vietnam and protested the Vietnam War, the one our government knew we couldn't win as early as 1965.

The student loan announcement is a big move but of course it wasn't a total forgiveness of all debt so people have to bitch about it. It's I Want Everything Right Now !!!!! It's annoying.

Just annoying as hell. I gamble on sports myself (but lightly, $10 a time), the people on these shows all sound like degenerate gamblers and I always wonder if they are so fucking good at this, why are they working for a living? And as fun as it has been to even gamble a little bit, the explosion of this has made sports less enjoyable.

In the last week I've had a massive uptick in Scam calls. Anyone else I think what might have happened is I just got a new roof put on the house and had to get some financing for it and I am guessing my phone number got thrown out there into the scamverse. I should get an airhorn and blow their ears out. Hi, I am Woman With American Accent calling about Social Security, our records show that blah blah blah. Press 1 to learn more. (now I know it's a scam, but I press 1 out of curiosity) - and wouldn't you know, no more American accent. Occasionally I will get jobs to voice things like training videos or even phone menus "Press 1 to be put on hold even longer". "If you're looking for something different for lunch, try Millie's American Bistro, just 200 feet from the Lake Street station"............ I wonder if the voiceover people they use for these scams even know that their voices are being used to scam people? I used to get a call with a recording of Jamie Dimon from Chase Bank. Only thing is that they pronounce Dimon wrong. Might be a hint something ain't right ?
