She is very easy to love. She's the happiest and sweetest dog. And she has settled in here like she's lived here forever. I bought a camera to watch her when I am at work and she mostly lays in the bed or lays in the bay window. She doesn't seem to have separation anxiety (she'd been homeless and then in a kennel for several months). She knows she's got it good here, because she does.

Bought a six pack of new socks and today put on a pair and did so with the full knowledge that no matter what I do, and how hard I try, these socks will never EVER be this white again.

2022 DETROIT TIGERS REGULAR SEASON THREAD
Motor City Sonics replied to chasfh's topic in Detroit Tigers
Robbie Grossman spends a week in Atlanta and they fixed him. Or - they undid what the Tigers staff did to him. Now I am starting to understand why all these guys on our team are having the worst years of their careers at the same time. I think they are filling the Tigers hitters heads with too much information and those guys are up there thinking too much instead of just doing what they have been doing since they were kids. If AJ failed to recognize this might have been a problem, why the hell is he in on picking the new GM? I just so bad in so many ways. I have no hope for the next 3 years.- 3,276 replies

Hardknocks/Preseason Thread - Including OTAs
Motor City Sonics replied to TP_Fan's topic in Detroit Lions
Actually TK has been playing on Special Teams (not in a receiver role). He's just that steady guy, that depth guy every team needs. You know, the sure-handed white guy that gets open even though he's not the fastest, but he actually is pretty fast. He made two catches on Saturday that I am not sure any other receiver not named St. Brown could make. You know at least 2 WRs will get hurt this year. I like Kalif Raymond because he's scrappy, but he's so small............. -
Lucy inherited Diego's favorite toy (Hedgie The Hedgehog). Chillin' on a Sunday. Okay, I'll stop now.

Got more of her backstory yesterday. She was found in Detroit in May. All the Detroit shelters were full and the finder could not foster another dog, so they called around and Washtenaw County took her in and gave her to Huron Valley. She had a fairly large mass and they removed most of it. The kind of mass it is - there is a 10% chance it could grow back and I will need to take her to the vet every 3 months. She was microchipped and her name was Lucy all along but the phone call to the number on the chip was never returned. She's been through a lot, but the folks at HSHV absolutely adored her. When I got her yesterday they got on the walkie talkie and told everyone Lucy's going home if they wanted to say goodbye and everyone on the staff came to say goodbye. She ate that up. She's housebroken, and very good about it. I'll be getting a lot more exercise with her around because she loves walks (don't all dogs?). She doesn't beg for people food and won't eat directly from my hand (yet). She's kind of picky so I got some canned chicken to mix with her food and she gobbled that up. She plays with her Moose toy by herself, she'll throw it around. She loses her mind over belly rubs and her whole body rocks when she gets them (I think it's her tail wagging her body)...........and she is very very sweet, like you can get contact Diabetes just from being around her. She seems to respond more to women than men (except me now) She has not taken long to get comfortable here and she knows she's safe with me. She jumped into the recliner with me at bedtime (I sleep in a recliner). 50 pound dog with me is a bit too much and too warm, but she got down and slept next to the chair most of the night. Follows me a lot but not as much as yesterday. I don't know how long she has, but she's gonna live happily.

I'm sorry you're still going through your loss. I am too, despite my new best friend today. Last night I swear I saw Diego in the corner of my eye. But this dog I got...........very very sweet and she goes from 100 to out cold like a 2 year old.

I just feel that it's all about money. Don't get me wrong, I was happy to see Michigan won the Big Ten last year because anything short of an Indy appearance should have meant Harbaugh's job. But the whole money angle is so overwhelming. I know there never was an innocence to it, but it's just so over the top now that it's something to watch, but I'm not doing any daily countdown in anticipation. If the conferences and schools are only going to make money-based decisions then they players should get paid, but it's just too much too fast and it's just ugly to me. I'll watch on September 3rd, but my day won't be planned around it like it used to. Maybe that just happens when you get older, but its just too many things.

I know it's preseason, but I don't know how Tom Kennedy does not make this team. I think it's Quintez that doesn't make the team. -
Bitch stole my chair !

I just don't have an excitement for college football this year. Let's just call it Minor League Football.

Looking on the bright side, they're only 19 1/2 games out of a Wild Cards lot and it is just August........... -
My boss, who was so supportive on giving me time to mourn Diego, lost her dog last night. He was 13 years old. I feel so bad for her. She's gonna have a rough weekend, but none of that will be reflected when she comes back to work. Lucky to have a boss like that.

Yeah accidentally. Just like Bill Belichick "accidentally" texted the wrong guy which led to division rivals the Dolphins losing draft picks. Yeah, accidentally.

Okay, it was more than 3 seconds. I gotta tell you, not knowing it was a BB Gun, David Horowitz could not have been calmer about it.

Its so strange. I flew 2 days after that and had no fear at all. Then when I am in California, I am watching some news show in the afternoon and the guy is talking and someone walks up behind him - in the studio - with a gun - and it cuts to a Technical Difficulties title card immediately It was this...........I saw this live, for about 3 seconds It turned out that guy was the son of one of their contributing reporters (special segments), and they knew him and that's how he got in there. He had this manifesto that he wanted David Horowitz to read. They cut away from this in about 3 seconds but he didn't know that so Horowitz did what he was told and read it. We never saw that part. Turned out it was a BB gun. https://deadline.com/2019/02/david-horowitz-dead-fight-back-held-hostage-on-air-1202560712/

I lived in Dearborn. It was a light rain that night. I was at my Aunt's house just after 8pm to pick something up. She lived at Telegraph between Van Born & Michigan. I do recall hearing some sirens down towards 94 but that's it. Didn't hear any crash or explosions. Had no idea what happened until I went to watch something on TV and all the news stations were in coverage live. If I hadn't watched TV that night I would not have known until the morning. No internet back then. Things were so much different. Now within 10 minutes we'd have people's dash cam footage, cellphone footage, people on the scene, and rumors and conspiracy theories (the government shot it down). I had a flight to California 2 days later. Had to take a very long way and very slow way around to get there because 94 and Middlebelt were still closed. Like Oblong mentioned - I didn't know anyone involved in that cleanup, but a guy I knew was in the reserves and was called in to clean up a crash in Pittsburgh.........the plane flew nose first directly into the ground at 300 mph and the impact and pressure it caused left no person intact. This was out in the woods in some hills. I knew this guy in 1996, two years after the crash and when he brought it up he'd start shaking. I doubt he's ever been the same

There was Jimmy and Tommy and Me and there was Anthony Stabile, Frankie Carbone, and there was Moe Black's brother Fat Andy and his guys Frankie The Wop, Freddie No-Nose and then there was Pete The Killer, who was Sally Balls' brother, Nicky Eyes and Mikey Franzese and Jimmy Two-Times who got that nickname because he said everything twice.

Stomp on the floor a couple of times or smack the wall. I had a dog go mostly deaf but he sensed that.
