Hey there. Just thinking about things on a rare off-day We still have 108 games left. We find ourselves 10 games out at 21-33 after reality slapped us in the face in The Bronx this weekend. If ever a team needed a week with a couple of days off............... Our division is not exactly strong. At their current pace the Twins would win the division with 92 games, but I don't think they'll keep that up. If the White Sox get healthy they could contend, but if they don't turn things around soon Tony LaRussa might not survive the season. I think the winner of the Central division will win about 88 or 89 games this year, and the Wild Card teams will have more wins than that. Our fellas would have to go 67-41, a .620 clip. I don't think that's even close to possible. So what is the rest of this season for? Purely talent evaluation? AGAIN? What do we hope to learn the rest of the way? Will this team ever hit? What is your level of frustration right now, June 6th? For me - I'm furious. Yes, the injuries have been hard to believe this year, but it's been mostly to the pitching staff, and for the most part, the pitching staff has weathered this extremely well. It's that lineup. Maybe Rob Manfred is f-ing with the baseball and offense and power are down overall, but it doesn't excuse this team's lack of offense. What do you think realistically happens the rest of the way? You don't change GMs in mid-season, but I do worry about another lackluster draft and I really don't want him making anymore trades and we are all under the impression that Chris Illitch is not in it to win it so as long as costs are kept in check, Al will be fine. What do you think is the best case scenario for 2022? 77 wins again?

Some Tampa Bay Rays players won't wear the Pride uniforms. Their spokesman Jason Adam said their decision was based on religion " explicitly saying that the group didn't want to "encourage" the "lifestyle" of LGBTQ+ people due to their personal belief in Jesus. I'm not a religious guy myself, but didn't Jesus teach to love others, even those who don't love you, even those you don't understand? I'm pretty sure that's the general message he tried to get across (according to what I've heard). Seems lost on Christians, doesn't it. Hide behind religion all you want, you're a bigot, period. I don't know why MLB teams need to have Pride uniforms, probably just to sell more merch, but Jason Adam (Nebraska), Jalen Beeks (Arkansas), Jeffrey Springs (North Carolina) and Ryan Thompson (Texas) are showing their true bigoted colors and using religion to do it. By the way, Jeffrey Springs and Jalen Beeks throw left-handed....................Left handed people were (very recently) cited as sinister and against God. Many of the same statements said about homosexuals today were almost identically said about left-handed people, in some cases, in the last 100 years. Pray on that.

We'll probably see Meadows back on Tuesday in Pittsburgh. We'll see Riley make his debut Friday against Toronto (in 2025 if it's up to Henning) Eduardo will probably have a rehab start in Toledo this week Pineda not far behind him. Victor Reyes and Robbie Grossman will likely start rehab assignments in Toledo soon. Although, to be honest, you can just release Robbie Grossman at this point. He's got one of the highest strikeout rates in baseball, his power is gone and I would rather see more of Cameron/Hill/Reyes at this point.

I am absolutely not absolving Al. Who else is going to play there? They have Hill, Cameron and the Castros. That's it until Meadows, Robbie, Reyes, or Greene come up. It's a poorly constructed OF. I'm not even giving AJ a hard time. What else is he supposed to do?

But that division.............that's a tough one. 3 of the four teams are legit Super Bowl contenders and the Raiders could be really good too.

Remember that list shortstops on the free agent list Javy is under .200 Carlos Correa - Hurt (again) and only 3 HR Corey Seager is only hitting .241 Marcus Semien - almost identical numbers to Javy (as a 2b) Trevor Story only hitting .230 (as a 2b) Andrelton Simmons hitting .186 - only 15 games so far Jose Iglesias actually hitting .316 (no home runs), but is the worst defensive SS in baseball. All of them are kind of busts right now. I know Seagar has 11 HR and Story has 9, but for the money they got paid, that's not a success.

This is on Al. 7 years of running this team (and 12 years as part of the front office before that) and the 2 major-league OF he has produced are Riley Greene (has proven nothing yet) and Derek Hill (his potential is basically Quintin Berry). That's a lot of drafts to produce nothing. I admire Willi for playing his ass off and saying "yes" to whatever they need. Guy's got some grit. I know he has no room to refuse, but he's doing the best he can. Yep, freakish year with injuries. It does feel like they are cursed, but no depth from our own system. It's so frustrating.

Riley Greene is going to come out swinging and be on fire his first month and then Al will trade him for 2 middle-of-the-road prospects because eventually if Greene keeps hitting he'll want to get paid and we can't have that.
