  1. If I'm named GM today, I............. Send Torkelson Down (i haven't given up, but he needs to fix something) Send Clemens Down (clearly, he's not ready) Send Haase down (are they keeping him because he's a local guy?) DFA Grossman (not part of the future, no need to clog a spot) DFA Schoop (looks like he's sleep walking) Re-activate Daz Cameron (might as well see what we've got and if he can improve) Activate Candelario (maybe he gets hot, maybe someone wants him in a trade) Call up Westbrook (hitting .329 since May 19th) Call up Garneau (better than Haase Call up Kerry Carpenter (is he ready? probably not, but he can't be worse, they need some power from somewhere) I'm trying anything I can to shake up this team. Maybe this sparks something, anything. I don't really care, I am making big moves to see if this team has any life in them at all. This team is so damaged right now that there aren't very many things I wouldn't try. Everyday lineup 1b - Harold Castro 2b - Willi Castro ss - Javy Baez 3b - Jeimer Candelario c - Tucker Barnhart rf - Victor Reyes cf - Riley Greene lf - Kerry Carpetner dh - Miguel Cabrera Bench - Westbrook, Garneau, Cameron Batting order..........I have no idea. Baez no higher than 7th, if he doesn't like it, earn it.
  2. I don't think anything should be off the table at this point (except Tork, Greene, and a couple of pitchers), but I sure as hell don't want this current staff to be making the moves.
  3. Thank you Flyers for taking that off the table (not that I think it ever was on the table). I think it's gonna be Jeff Halpern. Hiring him as an Assistant Head Coach was one of the last things Yzerman did as Lightning GM.
  4. I remember, and I am not lying when I say this............Listening to the radio in the car after a Lions loss and hearing Bobby Ross in his press conference sounds so defeated and I said to my friend John "He's done..........he might quit, he sounds broken".............Bobby quit the next day in the middle of the season. AJ's starting to sound like that. Difference is that Bobby had a long career that was heading into it's twilight, so he wasn't really expecting to get another job. AJ is young and wants to manage in the future....if he quit it would seriously damage him (especially after the cheating thing). It's just got that feeling - he's out of ideas, he's gassed, he's broken and he's kind of quitting without saying 'I quit'.
  5. Thats called Ryan Raburning
  6. Were they outscored 54-11 this week? Did I add good?
  7. Oh, and were coming up on the 40th anniversary of the last title.
  8. What little trade value we have, I don't want Al Avila doing the trades But who would replace him? David Chadd? He could be worse than Al. You could make Brad Holmes or Steve Yzerman the GM of the Tigers and they couldn't be worse.
  9. apathy is always worse than anger.
  10. You kidder, you.
  11. I am not watching tonight, I refuse to put myself through that. Are the fans booing at all? If they are, is it lustily booing?
  12. Don't you mean during the game?
  13. Susan Sarandon had better swings at the batting cages in Bull Durham.
  14. Shit, let Miggy pitch tonight. That would surely entertain.
  15. The Millen Man March (anti-Millen rally) was in 2005, but they didn't fire him until 2008, after they started at 0-3........then they went 0-16 with the team he built and for 8 years he basically said only 3 losses were his fault.
  16. Fire Millen chants went on for 3 years before they fired him.
  17. If you, right now had this lineup 1b - Harold Castro 2b - Jamie Westbrook SS - Zack Short 3b - Willi Castro Of - Trayce Thompson Of - Riley Greene Of - Daz Cameron C - Dustin Garneau DH - Miggy They might not be as bad...........because the current team could not be worse.
  18. ....but still, somehow, there are four teams with a worse winning percentage. The runs scored for those teams... Kansas City 236 Oakland 212 Washington 272 Cincinnati 277 The Tigers are at 169, the worst in baseball The Second-Worst are Oakland & Pittsburgh with 212 So the Tigers have the lowest runs-scored by 43 runs Wow.
  19. Fuck the draft, Avila has to be fired by Monday. I don't care what AJ does, since he doesn't seem to care anymore.
  20. This team and this manager have completely quit. Is this uglier than 2003?
  21. yeah, probably. Al's had 7 years (20 years in player scouting and drafting). I think that's a fair sample size. AJ looked like he gave up last night.
  22. HEY LOOK, WE'RE BRINGING UP RILEY.................SEE !!!!! WE CARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. That's like the Port-A-Potty vacuum guy saying "I need someone to take my route next week).
  24. AJ's reaction when Al comes into his office and says "I wanted to ask you about an extension"
  25. Yep, had a year with the Angels and the finished 72-90 after 2 years of 80-82 under Scioscia. Nobody wins with the Angels.
