Week Ten: Detroit Lions (7-1) @ Houston Texans (6-3)
Motor City Sonics replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
If they want to go 16-1 they have to make a move for a pass rusher - at the least. They won't get away with not pressuring the QBs forever. -

On Paper is the key. Something sideways will happen, and I kind of hope it happens in the last 4 weeks. Something that reminds them that they are beatable, because in order to win it all, you need a little bit of that fear in the back of your head. -

I don't think they're going 16-1, so they're gonna lose one of these games, right? Right? Now 15-2 --- that's a lock ! By the way TP, 6-11 is not possible now. You may have missed that one. -
Are the Commanders actually the 2nd best team in the NFC? NFL Power Rankings 1 - Detroit Lions - The Lions would destroy KC right now. 2 - Kansas City 3 - Buffalo Bills 4 - Pittsubrgh Stillers 5 - Baltimore Raves 6 - Washington Commanders 7 - Minnesota Vikings 8 - Philadelphia Eagles 9 - Green Bay Packers 10 - Houston Texans 32 - New Orleans - They earned it 31 - Carolina 30 - NY Giants 29 - New England 28 - Las Vegas 27 - Tennessee 26 - Jacksonville 25 - Cleveland 24 - Dallas 23 - Miami

Because none of the coaches (Indy, Minny, Tampa & KC) are in jeopardy NEW HOT SEAT RANKING !!! 1. Dennis Allen, New Orleans. Wouldn't shock me to see it happen tomorrow, but 2 more weeks until the bye. They've fallen off a cliff. 2. Doug Pederson, Jacksonville. He may survive the season, but they were supposed to be the AFC version of the Lions. They've gone the wrong way 3. Mike McCarthy, Dallas. I wouldn't expect Jerry to make a move mid-season, unless they loss 3 or 4 in a row. Well....they've got Philly, Houston and DC next. If they get hammered at home against Philly, it might happen. Mike Zimmer has Head Coaching experience and can certainly fill in as an Iterim. $60 million for Dak Prescott? Yikes 4. Kevin Seftanski, Cleveland - A Year after winning Coach Of The Year? Yep. Cleveland had expectations. 5. Antonio Pierce, Las Vegas - It's a mess. But that's what you get for hiring that jackass Josh McDaniel. You get pain, long after he's gone. I don't think Brian Daboll is in jeopardy this year. If the Bears collapse Matt Erberflus is certainly on this list.

If I were betting this week Favorite - Spread - Underdog (HOME TEAM in ALL CAPS) ATLANTA 3 Dallas - I'll take Atlanta, at home and I think Dallas is done. BUFFALO 6 Miami - Buffalo all day here CINCINNATI 8 Las Vegas - Give me Vegas and the points LA Chargers 2 CLEVELAND - I will take the Chargers here. TENNESSEE 3.5 New England - I'll go Pats here (based on what I saw from Tennessee last week) Washington 4 NY GIANTS - I think it's DC and it won't be close New Orleans 7 CAROLINA - I will hesitantly take NOLA here BALTIMORE 9 Denver - Balto will win, but 9 points? Give me Denver PHILADELPHIA 7.5 Jacksonville - Jax and the points ARIZONA 1.5 Chicago - Much as I hate trusting Arizona, I will here. That end last week has to have rattled Da Bears Detroit 2.5 GREEN BAY - I will take the Lions, who have exorcised their Lambeau Curse LA Rams 1.5 SEATTLE - Strange spread is begging you to bet on Rams. I will take Seattle MINNESOTA 5.5 Indianapolis - AR was playing like arse, Flacco inspires team. I'll take Colts KANSAS CITY 9 Tampa Bay - Tampa's so scrappy, but too many injuries, I'll go KC here. This is my iffiest game. Other Bet Someone wearing a Browns or Titans uniform today will be wearing a Lions uniform next week.

It's funny. I watched Emergency as a kid. I had to watch it on the little black & white TV in my room because my mom could not stand all the sirens. But I never though that in my 50's I would be watching these shows again and REMEMBERING lines and plots from when I was 7 years old. Anyway, a lot of aspects of the show aged very poorly - especially their depiction of women. It's very cringe-y. I know they weren't the only show that showed women that way, but it does make me a bit uneasy. They're often portrayed as dumb or hysterical, when in my adult life I realize that women are not only smarter than men, they lap us and as far as being hysterical goes, that while yes, women may allow themselves to cry more than men do, it's merely because women are more open. And I have also learned that women are mentally tougher too. One of the reasons is that they have to put up with men all the time. We're mostly a bunch of overgrown children. Remember, single moms continue to get bashed in certain circles, but it was the moms who stayed & toughed it out while the dads took off (in more cases, not all). Anyway, still watch it if I find myself at home sick during the day or on the rare work-from-home day (which I don't like doing). Randolph Mantooth is the most awesome name of all time.

Well A - that should be plastered in ads all over the telly in these last 2 days B - He'll probably roll back child labor laws if given the chance like that troll in Arkansas did.

Indiana seems for real. I am rooting for them big time. Sorry Michigan, your season is done and anyone but Ohio State, right? So I am all for Oregon and Indiana right now.

I think it's kind of a dumb idea to put political signs in your business window or property. There's a used car dealership near me with Trump signs all over the place. I can guarantee you that if I need a used car it won't be from him. And as Rob put it with that restaurant that Trump came to in Dearborn. It's someplace I went once and thought it was overpriced (and the hours were weird to me), but not only is the owner a Trumper, he's a homophobe too. Don't need people like that in my life. I have lost friendships over this kind of thing in recent years, but I just don't want to associate with people so hateful. I have one friend who is constantly going off about trans people on Facebook and I constantly ask how does it really affect his life? He doesn't like it, but how does it really affect his life? Any mention of the Bible will get a response of "do we really want to talk about YOUR history in any Biblical terms? Don't like Transfolk? Okay, don't hang out with them. Problem solved. He's still my friend because we've been through too much, but why does it matter? Never lived his life in any religious manner, why should anyone else?

Well, I'll walk that back, he wasn't Bo's buddy, he was Bo's pawn - to make sure his players would always get medically cleared to play. Again, great guy.
-
It's not my fault Bo's buddy was a pervert and he allowed him to stick around.
-
You mean the Big 2 and the Little 8 years? Couldn't win a bowl game. Refused to adapt. Oh, and he let a pervert run loose on his players, too. Great guy.
