Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich started all of this. I don't see any common sense people taking control of the Republican party any time soon. I think John Kasich was trying a few years ago. The more pragmatic issue-oriented types have been pushed aside for these extremists and conspiracy theorists and yes RACISTS. The extremists on the left are kind of kept on the fringes. It's at the point where most Democrats just roll their eyes and let folks like Tlaib talk themselves tired. Yes, I believe in some conspiracies. I'll never buy the JFK assassination story. most of these Thursday night games are. it takes these guys at least 2 days just to recover from the last game. To ask them to play in just 3 games is absolutely ridiculous. It isn't fair to the players and it's not good for the fans who want quality games. They can fix this without losing Thursday Night Football. When they add the 18th game (and they will), the players union needs to negotiate 3 things. #1 TWO preseason games #2 TWO bye weeks. #3 - Teams can only play Thursday night games when coming off a bye week. It can be done. These schedule-making nerds are great. If we can send people to the moon and bring them back alive we can certainly do that. Sure, the Super Bowl won't be until late February. Why would the NFL be against that. Stay top of mind for an extra 2-3 weeks. There should be a 5-day minimum between games. So play some games on Saturdays too (before the end of the season). Do you really think NFL owners care one bit about stepping on college football's toes? It's only a matter of time until ALL pro and top-division college games are on pay channels. You might get one or two FREE games a week.

People think of Socialism the same way they think about Cancer. Like they are one thing. They are far from it. Cancer is not a disease, it's a class of hundreds of diseases that behave in a similar way. There can't be a "cure for Cancer" because there are so many different Cancers. The "cure" for one cancer will do next to nothing for another one. Socialism is the same way. There are many different shades of it. A lot of people who are Anti-Socialist have gotten unemployment benefits, welfare, medicare, stimulus checks and have no idea that those are Socialism. If you want them to put their money (literally) where their mouth is - then send back those benefit checks. Of course they won't. You can even go to the length that passing any law is a form of Socialism because if we were absolutely not Socialism at all - it would be okay to steal from anyone or harm them. Sovereign Citizens like to think of themselves as some sort of purist - until someone tries to steal from them and then they call the cops. Frauds.

I adored Teri Garr. There is a Martin Scorsese comedy (yeah, I know), and it's a DARK comedy (it's Scorsese) from 1985 called After Hours. There are some serious laugh out loud moments in it and Teri has a very small but very memorable part in the movie as a Monkees-obsessed waitress. The part had to have been written for her. It's perfect. It's a slow-burn of a movie but it has plenty of little payoffs throughout. I highly recommend it. If you liked The King Of Comedy, you'll love this. Same kind of tone and New York is a character in the movie too. There's even a Cheech & Chong cameo. Cheech & Chong in a Scorsese pic, what's not to love?
