Our station does a segment every weekday at Noon called "Trinity of Women" (brought to you by Trinity Health). We play 3 female artist and stretch a bit out of our format to salute the great women in music history. Anyway, the great session bassist Carol Kaye is about to turn 90 on 3/24 - so I took a shot and emailed her and asked her about songs we could play in her honor for her birthday. She emailed me back - right away! How cool is that? She's got a long long list of credits too. Hard to narrow it down to 3. She said in the email she pivoted away from rock music because of the Manson murders. Carol had played on Beach Boys records, knew Dennis Wilson. Manson and his followers lived in Wilson's house for a time. Charlie wrote some songs, the Beach Boys covered one of them. He had a demo that Wilson took to producer Terry Melcher, who thought the songs were okay, even though Manson was not a good singer. Melcher set up a meeting at his house, -- on Cielo Drive. While Melcher thought Manson could have been a decent songwriter, after meeting him, he was skeptical and then while visiting Manson at Spahn Ranch he saw Manson (and followers) beat the snot out of a drunk stuntman and Melcher was out on Manson, which pissed him off. Manson was unaware that Melcher (and Candice Bergen) had sold that house to Roman Polanski. The victims were not the targets that night. I can understand why Carol said "that's enough for me, see you later".

Almost all of those biopics are garbage. I am seeing a lot of non-truths in the new Bob Dylan biopic and he did a table read for it. What? If you want a good biopic that is fairly accurate, according to just about everyone who is still around - Love & Mercy (about Brian Wilson). Okay, the hairpiece that Paul Giamatti wears is a bit much, but he did a lot of the things that Eugene Landy actually did to Brian. He really did help him at first, but then he got greedy and took advantage of him.

Well, Big Star has a great song called "Thirteen" but it's written from the point of view of a kid. I think you could assume that was the meaning behind "You're Sixteen". It's a song written from the point of view of a teenager. I mean, Johnny Cash never actually shot a man in Reno just to watch him die.

Did Kenta break his ankles today?

I think I am going to bet $10 on Opening Day at Dodger Stadium being a rainout. They haven't had one since April 17, 2000 The odds have got to be incredible. I mean, it's $10 .

Are any of them, other than Foley, making this team anyway? Ah, can't worry about spring training performances until March 15th anyway. Might be working on new things they're not comfortable doing yet. Won't do that when the games count.

I just thought that today too. Because their pitcher's name. Well, he's not in any organized ball now.

They have seemingly closed the door on Greene playing Center again. Too much mileage on his legs.

BACK-TO-BACK BABY !!!! SWEENEY !

Wow, Jones CRUSHED that one. Can he play Center?

Wow, It seems like he played for the Wings 20 years ago.

You get some great radio shows, though.

I used to support Rose, but he lost me for good when he finally came out and admitted it A - On the day they announced the Hall Of Fame player (Fergie Jenkins, I believe), which stole Jenkins thunder as the first black pitcher who played 100% in MLB and first Canadian to get into the Hall B - Did it to promote a book C - That he signed the next day AT A CASINO. Talk about tone deaf. Made whatever "apology" completely hollow It would be like Prince Andrew apologizing for his relations with underage girls and then signing autographs at a primary school.
-
Even if Rose is removed from ineligible list, he's not getting voted in. The writers won't back down on this. And then of course they'll get a bunch of death threats.

Yeah, not comfortable with Ryan Kreidler being our backup because AJ came out and pretty much closed the door on Riley playing Center. Too bad Carpetner or Malloy can't do it. They seem to have quite a few guys who really can't field on this team. Trying to scour to see if any remaining Free Agent CFers are out there. I don't think we're going to see Meadows or Vierling for quite some time. Alex Verdugo is still out there.

What if Javy Baez goes something like 2 for 30 this spring and strikes out half the time? Would they still bring him North?

We all know, at some point, it's going to happen - there will be a borderline major league player making near minimum who is going to tank something for a big massive payout. It will happen now that there is so much more gambling. At first I liked the whole legal sports gambling, I even cleaned up and made over $600 by betting $10 at a time on over/unders in hockey, until they got wise and stopped having 5.5 totals. But it's nauseating now. I am just so sick of hearing it. One of the best players in the NBA, maybe the most popular just got traded because the owners of a team are in a state without gambling and they've been bribing people left and right. All these Texas politicos that were against it are very suddenly changing their tune. That move was made to start the process of moving the Dallas team, owned by Casino interests, to move to Las Vegas. They can claim all they want that it isn't the reason, but we all know sports owners NEVER lie. It has to be something to do with gambling because there is no other explanation why they would make that trade. It's something nefarious - controlled by gambling interests. They're starting to seriously **** with sports at this point.

But didn't baseball just fire one of it's best umpires because their phone was used to gamble? Rose never truly apologized for what he did and continued to associate himself with casinos when he should said he was sorry and showed real remorse. They may work with casinos now, but if a player or anyone involved with a team gambles on baseball they are going to be out. Plus this argument that he only bet on his team to win is bunk. I used to believe that at first, but then it was pointed out that he probably made decisions regarding point spreads and other smaller things, like maybe leaving in a pitcher to long to get his desired result. There is no way he didn't try to influence his own team's result to benefit him. Plus it would be a huge victory for Trump which makes me want to puke. Pete chose his life. There are consequences. Did the Black Sox ever get paid for what they did? If not, do we reinstate all of them too?

They're not going far with this goaltending.

Kane is just so good at passing. One of the best of all-time.

Somehow I knew they'd score when they were interviewing the band. LOL.
