  1. This is just like last year when Larkin went down with his injury. They totally fell apart. Larkin and Raymond are not the same since the Four Nations tournament. Not a point since before the Four Nations tournament. Yzerman's seat should be giving him blisters on his arse at this point.
  2. I hope Manning does alright for the Reds, Pirates, Marlins or A's I, like Gehringer_2, thought he might have been the best of the bunch a few years ago. We always love to rate how good our prospects are and all teams do, but if you look back through MLB history at any given year - out of a team's Top 10 prospects, if 3 of them wind up being above average Major League players then you are doing pretty well. I remember hearing the greatness of Mize, Manning and Skubal, but also thinking that in the real world, the best we can realistically hope for was one to really become a star. Skubal's the star, Mize is a 4th/5th starter and Manning is probably done as a Tiger. If we can get anything above average out of Mize, then we're doing really well.
  3. My head is like a radio on shuffle. I wake up with songs in my head every day. Not always ones I like. Sometimes they are songs I have not heard in years (Go Ahead And Rain by J.D. Souther the other day - which I like). Today it was Strange Meadow Lark by Dave Brubeck, which I love. No idea why it was knockin' around in there, but it was.
  4. I can understand why this song would appeal to someone with mental health issues. If you locked someone in a room and played this on repeat for only 45 minutes, it would be considered torture. I love Brian Wilson's music. He was a genius (talking past tense because his days of music-making are over). But like every artist, not everything he did was on-target. There's plenty of nonsense in his repertoire. It doesn't all need to be found.
  5. Like he's High AF (sorry, I just find it amusing, not accusing the young man of anything, he's like Jim Breuer, who got cast in Half Baked because he looks high all the time).
  6. if he swung at that one, he was late.
  7. No, you just Sprung Ahead 1 hour and 1 minute last night. Goofball.
  8. They're gonna keep him until the last year of the contract.
  9. THIS GUY HATES CANS ! STAY AWAY FROM THE CANS ! THERE'S CANS IN THERE TOO MORE CANS !
  10. Will be able to watch Mud Hens games in 2027? Just as the Tigers will be starting a peak. Losing Skubal will hurt, but only a little bit since he's a 1 out of 5 guy. Starting pitching is not as important as it once was. Tigers kind of proved that last year. But if the Mets don't win a Series this year or next, Cohen will let Skubal/Boras name their price. If he looks anything like he did in 2024 again, that's going to be at least 60 million a year. But always remember. Washington lost their superstar player, an everyday player and then immediately won a World Series. Bryce is still ringless. Build a good organization and you can survive losing one player. I'm telling you -- no MLB season. This will be an ugly one. I wish we could eat cake frosting as a meal.
  11. The players are paid very well, they can survive it. The owners will find ways to write it off and they won't lose a thing. Especially with this Billionaires-First country of ours, especially now.
  12. The amount of greed on both sides here is immeasurable. You know this. Neither side will give on anything until they piss a whole season away. They don't care about the game. They don't care about the fans. They don't care about the cities and businesses that'll lose money. They only care about themselves. We mean nothing.
  13. I don't think there will actually be a season. Just as Greene/Meadows/Carp/Keith get good and Max Clark and Kevin McGonigle are getting read to break out.
  14. They should get a couple of players at the Trade Deadline for Skubal - who the Mets or Dodgers will pay 60 million a year in 2027 and beyond.
  15. He was 95, perhaps his heart just gave out. But Hantavirus. Don't hear that much anymore. Maybe their dogs came across rodent feces in their paws and somehow the paws touched something she ate. What's scary is that people think they have the flu, and the flu has been in the news a lot lately.
  16. I could see Tork being the 66% DH vs. righties and the 1B vs. lefties. Don't give up on a 25 year old who did not have a season the year he was drafted and got called up too early. His failures are not all his fault.
  17. Dude, contain yourself. You look like a Price Is Right contestant.
  18. Did Montero get hurt?
  19. It's Trade Deadline Collapse Week !!!! Now Stevie can get some more draft picks because "we're just not ready". Weeeeeee !!!!!!!!
  20. He seems done-zo. It's a shame. We saw flashes. Good luck with the Rays, Matt. I mean, The Rays will have 1 and 2 in the Cy Young race with Faedo and Manning.
  21. That's across the street from me. My house is bone-dry.
  22. Who gets cut off the roster? Kreidler? If he was on the 40-man, I'd say he's got a real shot, but not so sure. There's been a lot of Spring Training All Stars that never did much after April 1st. He hasn't been a regular CF since 2017 in A-Ball. Looks like they are going to need someone to play Center with Vierling and Meadows both having career-ending, life-threatening injuries. I only say that because it will seem like a relief when both only miss 3 months.
  23. Wow. I can't see them playing today
  24. Guys, I really don't think they're playing today
  25. I'm thinking that they aren't going to wait until 2 or 2:30, they're just going to call it. They call it quick in ST
