  1. They left it for Manfred to work it out. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/what-banning-the-shift-does-and-does-not-accomplish/
  2. This is the cap I wear every day. That's the tiger jumping through the "O".
  3. I'm showing my ignorance here. Is there a regulation about the exact dimension of the "dirt?"
  4. I had to look up Interstitial Lung Disease. Wishing you well.
  5. The drugs being used for my wife's chemo are GAZYVA for the IV and VENCLEXTA for the pills [who names this stuff?] No bill has been submitted yet. Under Medicare part A, her maximum out of pocket is $4,500, so I am expecting something like that. The actual pills are expensive, but I am told we can get reimbursement for up to $9K. She asked when she started if her hair would fall out and they told her "probably not." Well, her hair is falling out, if what we see in the shower drain is a precursor. She is not a happy camper about that.
  6. Also common are drugs that cause constipation. My wife is now taking 4 different prescription drugs to help with side effects.
  7. There is one side effect I forgot to mention..diarrhea. Very annoying.
  8. She had her first chemo sessions Tuesday and Wednesday. She spent about 6 hours each day in a cheap recliner getting a drip bag of a designer drug. Other than boredom and night sweats, she has had no side effects yet. She will now start getting sessions once a week for several months.
  9. Indeed. chemo starts next week. It's an IV and is scheduled to last 6-8 hours. She is 78, so 8 hours of anything can be taxing.
  10. Minor league Rule 5 draft: First round Tigers Elvis Avarado and 2nd round Nick Kuzia. Also, looks like the Tigers lose Ruben Garcia.
  11. I guess this is the cancer thread. My wife got diagnosed with lymphoma this week. She has her first appointment with the hematologist on December 17th. Apparently, there are lots of variations of lymphoma. They all terrify me. I will know more next month. In the meantime, thanks for the kind words.

  13. Book Notes? I started this thread in the old forum, and named it in honor of the old Brian Lamb interview program. I wasn't sure it would catch on, hence the question marks. What are you Reading? is a more descriptive title.
  14. I'm glad things are working well for you and your wife. Keep fighting.
  15. And this is the state 7 Oregon counties have voted to join.
  16. I l I live in the Newberg school district, and I'm not sure who I voted for in the last election. I am pissed for many reasons, not the least that the District will be sued and it will lose, thereby costing me money. I do not now, nor have I ever, had kids in this school district, so i paid no attention. Lesson learned, I guess.
  17. I'm posting a message just to see what it looks like. Bruce
