If this is Kahnle's numbers correcting themselves I guess I'd rather have it all happen at once then have it over the course of several games, in that scenario it could cost us multiple games instead of just this one.

Before last year we went about a decade where are only All Stars were the token team reps so getting 4 potential starters all of whom are worthy is certainly nice to see. Definitely makes me more interested to watch the game for a change.

I wonder at the start of the year what the odds would've been on Javy being the starting OF in the All Star Game?

Holton with a 11 pitch first.
We'll get good Holton today since we scored 7 runs for him.

I feel like Rainer would probably have been right there with Konnor Griffin had he not gotten hurt. That being said Briceno moved up the list while Liranzo moved down a bit.
From what I heard about Liranzo while his overall numbers don't look terrible he has shown a lack of ability to hit off speed stuff which is concerning and probably a big reason for his drop.
Agree about Rainer as well. With his exit velos at that age and ability to look like he can handle short that alone probably would've warranted a big jump.

let one of the AL Central teams get under 10 games out and it will be freakout time
Yeah not saying to ignore them completely but those two division leaders are who I'm watching more closely at this point, if/ when a Central team gets back to within 7 or 8 games then they'll regain my main focus.
-
It's getting to the point where we're gonna have to start scoreboard watching by looking at the AL East leaders and Astros scores for the 1st round bye.
The Central teams are quickly becoming irrelevant at this moment.

McGonigle up to 7th and Clark at 12th. There's 3 current guys ahead of Kevin who are in the majors 2 of which should be exhausting their prospect status shortly so soon he'll be in the top 5. There's 3 like that for Clark so he'll be in the top 10 shortly as well.

I noticed one of our local sports anchors has been missing. Looked him up and it appears he's gone to fan duel Detroit to do pre/post game and on-field stuff for Tigers and Red Wings. Logan Reever.
He better not be taking my boy Johnny Kane's spot.

Well we're now net 1 on Michigan alum on the roster. What's Livers up to?

I was about to say Woodson's big plays in that game as well. Even though I'm older now thus have been a fan longer that 97 Championship meant so much more to me than this past one

ESPN says that Sunday Nights game was up 11% vs. the normal ratings and up 66% vs. a "comparable game"(i take it as non Yankee/red sox/Dodgers who probably boost the overall average).

Jackson Strong is a guy I've been keeping an eye on the last couple weeks. His k rate is still high but it has dropped quite a bit since the season has gone on so atleast he is showing improvement.

lots of rain in the forecast after 4pm in Washington.
Of course there is cause the Tigers are in town. If you're in a drought and need some rain just schedule the Tigers to play there and the Rain God's will open up the skies for you.

It means very little at all to me what the minor league teams do with their branding or jerseys but I will say that I don't care for the logo and font on the front of the jerseys.
It just looks really cheap to me and something you'd see at a knockoff Halloween store or something.

NAW to atlanta.
with beasley's "situation", shroeder gone to sactown, and lavert here. the pistons have tread water at best. and likely gotten worse.
they probably bring beasley back on a one year deal.
Yeah from a personnel standpoint I think they may have actually regressed this off-season. I think the real hope is that Ausar takes a leap forward along with Ivey playing like he was the last month before injury and improvements from somebody like Holland. Also maybe Cade takes another step forward and enters the true elite tier of players.
If none of those things happen it's hard to see them finishing at or better where they did last year.

I cant believe Capela is still "only" 31, he's one of those guys that feels like he has been around forever and should be alot older than that by now.

In all the years I've talked to front office folks about players/prospects, I've never seen them have the concerns over log jams, roster crunches, players being blocked, promotions, etc. These are concerns of fans and I've yet to see front office type stress over any of it....they are manufactured "problems" for the most part.
Priority prospects get handled first....this goes with season-opening roster construction and in-season player movement. If a priority prospect needs a specific assignment, they get it....end of story. When the team decides to promote -- for the purposes of this, let's say McGonigle -- then they promote him, and the underlying decisions are quite black and white or obvious.
Something else I always wondered was does the affiliate's concerns factor into any decision or is it always just about what's best for the prospect and in turn the big league club? For instance I read some tweets from people a few weeks back saying that the Tigers may wait till WM clinched before calling Clark and/or McGonigle up to Erie. Would something like that ever really be considered?

Yzermans OT goal against STL and Tayshaun's block come to mind as well.
Also another one that I really love was just the finish to the Lions/jets loser go home game in 97. Seeing how the team and fans responded after the emotional Reggie Brown incident waa something I will always remember. Topped off by Barry securing 2k yards and the playoff berth with the 53 yd run. The place was just electric.

Always weird in this day and age to see proven players in any sport just traded straight up 1 for 1 with no salary or draft picks factored in and miss them.

4th time in Skubal's last 10 starts he's allowed 2 base runners or less. Unbelievable!

We also don't know how good they will be drafting players. It certainly looks promising but no player under the current regime has done anything in the pros yet. Outside of Torres and Mckinstry our whole lineup is Avila guys as is Skubal, Olson and Mize. While those guys almost assuredly wouldn't be as good as they are without the improvements Harris as made internally the fact remains they weren't his players.
