  1. Even when he was drafted people were saying that there was a strong possibility that he'd end up in the bullpen so I can't say I'd be surprised if that is indeed where he ends up. The question is can he become a shutdown guy at the back end of it? If so there is definitely value in that so it wouldn't be the worst outcome for him.
  2. That makes sense but I wonder if the owners preferred the off day being on Friday while school is in session vs. a Sunday?
  3. Yeah I vaguely remember hearing about the construction mistake and I thought along the similar lines of just doing something with the stands instead. Admittedly I know nothing about things like this so I don't know how expensive or feasible it would be to just get rid of that last section of seats that overhang it that really blocks the bottom left hand corner of the scoreboard. It doesn't appear to be more than like a 100 seats so to me atleast it doesn't seem like it would be that big of deal to do.
  4. Lions resigned Sudfeld today. I don't know what to make of it other than Get you somebody that loves you like the Lions love Nate.
  5. Valenti brought it up yesterday but I wonder with these new kickoff rules if the Lions would entertain the thought of having Jamo back there as another way to possibly get him more involved and make an impact? Maybe not all the time but sneak him in there here and there and see if he can break one. On somewhat similar note I see the Steelers signed famed returner Cordarelle Patterson almost immediately after the new rules were passed so it seems that teams may already be trying to find ways to take advantage of it.
  6. I'd be fine with Chark, while it would be nice to have another stud receiver they really don't need one with St. Brown, Laporta and hopefully an improved Jamo but I do feel they need atleast one more semi reliable guy to fill that role. DJP is a possibility but I still want atleast one more guy for reassurance.
  7. I kinda blocked the 2nd half of that game out of my mind so I forgot about those drops, those were indeed killers.
  8. Yeah looks weird not being 4 sided but my ocd has been bothered by the whole scoreboard since the place opened. Having the left field bleachers over hang part of it has always bugged me, feels like the scoreboard should be atleast 20ft more towards centerfield so that would've been avoided.
  9. I'm too lazy to look but I know Copa naturally plays a lot smaller in the hot summer months, so I wonder if in the years where the park factor was lower if the Tigers happened to play more home games in the early spring or September/October? I don't know if it would be enough to make that big of a difference but say in the down years they had 10-15 more home games in those cooler months vs. the summer could that explain the disparity between years?
  10. Not that power rankings mean anything but ESPN put out their post FA one today and the Lions are number 2 behind the Chiefs. I have to believe this has to be the highest they have ever been on any power rankings since that became a thing.
  11. Why would you tell everybody you reached out to him then say it's none of your business when asked if you talked to him?
  12. I do feel that if the Tigers had anybody they were truly confident in that they would be starting over Javy regardless of Javy's contract. I don't buy into the fact that they are starting him solely based on that. If they had a Jackson Holliday in their system right now I can almost guarantee he'd be on the team and Javy would either be DFA'd or relegated to the bench.
  13. I think it was the overall stuff that them two showed that helped them make the team and not necessarily the stats. For instance if they put up great stats but were throwing 90 instead of a 100 I'm not so sure they make it.
  14. Javy sucked offensively in 2020, had a great 6 week stretch with the Mets in 2021 to boost his numbers, sucked in 2022, sucked in 2023 and has looked lost thus far in 2024 albeit a small spring training sample size. The odds of him suddenly turning around and being close to average offensively is slim to none for me.
  15. While it's not a guarantee it's possible that the Lions will recoup that Davis pick they traded anyway if/when he walks next year.
  16. I haven't been keeping up with CBB the last 2-3 years since Michigan has been bad but I know FAU made the Final Four last year and Louisville was interested in May so I presume this is a good hire.
  17. Yeah hate to say it but it's starting to get to the point where it's hard to come up with a logical explanation to why he hasn't been found or turned himself in other than he is dead somewhere.
  18. Im not going to say Spring Training stats are useless but I think unless you truly break them down or look closely at each at bat they can be extremely misleading which is why I doubt many teams put too much stock in them when deciding on who to keep. Extreme situation but for simplicity sake lets say a guy could go 10-10 against pitchers that are destined for the minor leagues but goes 0-20 against actual major league pitching. Yeah as a whole their stat line wouldn't look bad but if you looked deeper at the numbers or followed every at bat you would see that he probably isn't ready or has what it takes to hit major league pitching.
  19. I don't know what makes you think Sneed is a true number 1 when KC doesn't even treat him like one nor do they even put him on the best receiver in games. On top of that he lead all defenders in pass interference penalties and in play penalties overall. Not trying to say he isn't good nor would be an upgrade over what we have but lets not pretend he is Sauce Gardner or one of the true CB1s, he's a good player that is being paid like an elite one. I'm not giving up a 3rd round draft pick for that right.
  20. I watch so many fugitive and cold case type documentaries my imagination goes a little wild in instances like this.
  21. A guy with his resources could be anywhere in the world at this point.
  22. Different situation but last year it was the Tigers who couldn't get in touch with their player Erod and now its a Lions player that is MIA. Who's it going to be for the Pistons and Wings?
  23. Avila wanted to start over in 2015 but Ilitch was the one on insisting we go for it which led to the signings of Zimmermann, Upton and the delayed trades of JV, JD and Kinsler. If we tore things down to the studs when Avila wanted to and traded our guys 2 yrs earlier when they had more value perhaps we would be in a completely different situation.
  24. I wonder if this has been an ongoing thing with him and his gf and that's part of the reason why he sucked so bad the last couple months of the season?
