Considering Harbaugh's love for JJ he's probably trying to talk the Chargers brass into drafting him and getting rid of Herbert.

When was the last time the Vikings went all in on a young QB? It seems like it's always retread veterans like Cousins and Favre or late 1st rounders like Bridgewater and Culpepper.
Christian Ponder comes to mind, I think he was a top 10 pick in 2011 or 12. Ended up being a complete bust of course.

Im guessing Minny is trying to get more ammunition to move up for a qb. The Michigan fan in me hopes its not JJ cause Id hate to have to root against him which would be the case if he ends up a Viking.

Don't forget about the GOAT Jack Fox!

Barring injury it feels almost certain that Jobe will be up at some point later this year even if its just for a start or 2 and next year he should be entrenched in the rotation.

Also doesn't take into account penalties, Jacobs was 2nd in the league in PI calls with 6(Snead was actually the only one that had more) and among the leaders in total penalties with 9. Where as Carlton Davis wasn't called for a single PI and only had 3 accepted penalties in total against him.(Holding, illegal use of hands and unnecessary roughness)

I’ve seen that said here but nowhere else. Sportrac says pick 72. I hope they are wrong.

Also Schefter specifically says Lions 3rd round pick.

3 of the Pistons 11 wins have come against Charlotte, if they got to play them every night they'd be a playoff team!

lets all take a moment to laugh at the carolina panthers.
as they sit and watch the bears take a "generational tbd" qb with their #1 pick they gave up to take a tiny qb who was terrible in year one, lets not forget they turned down mutiple #1 picks to trade for brian burns and instead just dealt him for a second and a fifth.
they make the pistons look well run.
And to add insult to injury the QB they passed on had one of the best rookie seasons from a QB in a long time.

Glasgow and Jonah Jackson were 3rd round picks as well. Also 7 of the 22 All Rookies this year were 3rd round or later. With that said statistically the odds are you aren't going to get somebody as good as Davis with that pick but I don't think the odds are as low as KL2 is saying. I do agree with him though that fans(myself included) tend to overrate picks like that cause the odds are that you are more likely to a replacement level player at best than a plus starter.

I think Sneed and Fuller are the CB1s that are available. Kendall Fuller had an 83 PFF grade and being asked to be Washington's CB1 last season, covering the top WRs from the opposing team.
He also had a 52 grade and 120 passer rating against in 2022 which gives me some trepidation about him.

I'm not sure how the NFL compensation works but if Davis were to have a solid year and for some reason the Lions decide not to keep him and he goes elsewhere would he qualify for a comp pick? If so the Lions could recoup the pick they traded for him down the road.

Because we need a corner capable of covering a team's WR1 and Sutton got burnt in several games last year covering other teams WR1.
There's not a whole lot of guys in the league that can consistently cover WR1s, those guys are going to get their yards one way or another. I'm more concerned with not letting the other guys get theirs too.

I'm kind of shocked only a 2nd and a 5th even though he's only on the franchise tag. Carolina really mishandled this one.
The Giants may not have much else but they should have a dominant pass rush, just another guy to help Thibs get a bunch of clean up sacks.

Is Davis a big upgrade over Sutton? On paper he doesn't seem to be. Bot not having watched a ton of Bucs games, I don't if he passes the eyeball test of being markedly better than Sutton and taking on the CB1 responsibilities of covering the opposing teams WR1.
Im not sure if he is or not but as much as I would love to have a bonafide stud I don't think it's necessarily a must, I just want to avoid running out 1 or 2 complete duds like we did last year. If we can get a rotation of competent guys I think we will be alright.

That's more than I was expecting, was hoping/thinking it was basically a salary dump by TB and we were going to get him for like a 5th.
-
Davis isn't a stud or anything but I think he's definitely better than what we had last year, I'd still like to get somebody like Gilmore on a 1 year deal too along with drafting a guy early. I think if that were to happen then Gilmore, Davis, draft pick along with hopefully a healthy and somewhat productive Mosely would be a huge upgrade over what we were working with last year.

Off topic a bit but I like those Tigers spring training road unis, I wish they would wear them during the regular season instead of the all gray look.

I was in High School at the time and knew very little of prospect rankings, where guys were drafted, advanced stats etc. so I had no idea how Catallanato was viewed in any of those regard but all I know is that anytime I watched he seemed to play well so I liked him and was bummed he was traded.

I’m surprised he’s still in the league.
Yep, I had to do a double take when I was watching a Raiders game last year and I heard the announcer call his name. Thought for sure either the announcer messed up or I didnt hear him right.
-
I didn't really pay close attention to these things at the time but wasnt Justin Thompson supposed to be the centerpiece of the trade from our side? If so its kinda funny that he ended up with the lowest WAR.
-
Bucs resign Chase Mclaughlin, kinda figured it was a Longshot but he's somebody I had my eye on it we were gonna outside the organization for kicking help.

NOt sure if it's like this for MLB but I know for NHL it did that for me when I tried watching the Wings game they had on there cause I lived in the Detroit area.
