Judging by the restructure and adding void years, the Lions almost have to re-sign Davis.

The problem is Higgins wants a huge contract. He's not going to be happy to come to the Lions as a rental and I'm not sure the Lions will want to pay him.

If Fuller was a better corner, teams would have given him more money. He's getting old and has injury concerns.

I wouldn't have minded Zinter. The Lions would have had the luxury to let him sit and get healthy.

I don't think people realize how young the Lions were last year. There's also room for growth from the players already on the roster. We may not have seen the best from St Brown, Sewell, Hutchinson, Gibbs, Laporta, Branch, Campbell etc.

I like having depth in the secondary than one shut down corner. It doesn't matter if you have a Sauce type shutdown if your #2 just gets cooked.

I disagree that it wasn't a position of need. It was a position of need when they had Sutton and Davis. They lose Sutton and it became a bigger position of need. The Lions also have no depth at safety after Joseph and Melifonwu. Now they can move Branch to safety.

The Lions have 9 picks next year. They could use one to jump back in to the 3rd round.

CB was a position of need when they had Sutton so losing Sutton created even less depth. Davis is also in the last year of his contract.

The Eagles doubled up on defensive backs too. The Lions doubled up on defensive tackles in 2021. Had they not, they wouldn't have gotten McNeil.
