Judging by the restructure and adding void years, the Lions almost have to re-sign Davis.

The problem is Higgins wants a huge contract. He's not going to be happy to come to the Lions as a rental and I'm not sure the Lions will want to pay him.

If Fuller was a better corner, teams would have given him more money. He's getting old and has injury concerns.

I wouldn't have minded Zinter. The Lions would have had the luxury to let him sit and get healthy.

I don't think people realize how young the Lions were last year. There's also room for growth from the players already on the roster. We may not have seen the best from St Brown, Sewell, Hutchinson, Gibbs, Laporta, Branch, Campbell etc.

I like having depth in the secondary than one shut down corner. It doesn't matter if you have a Sauce type shutdown if your #2 just gets cooked.

I disagree that it wasn't a position of need. It was a position of need when they had Sutton and Davis. They lose Sutton and it became a bigger position of need. The Lions also have no depth at safety after Joseph and Melifonwu. Now they can move Branch to safety.
