  1. I've come around on drafting QBs in the middle round when you have a starter already in place. The backup QB spot is probably set for the next 3 years with a young-ish QB you can mold in your system.
  2. Clearly the team doesn't like him as someone knocked his teeth out.
  3. Hurts has a unique contract in that they will pay dearly at the end for the cap space today. The Eagles tacked on 4 void years to his contract. If Hurts doesn't sign a new deal, the Eagles would have a $97 million cap hit when he isn't even on the team. There are ways to manipulate the cap and I doubt Goff's cap hit would be an even $50 million each year.
  4. It likely wouldn't even be $50 million right away. Hurts cap hit in 2024 is $13 million. There's a good chance if Goff signs a new deal his cap hit would be lower in 2024 than it is now.
  5. Hendon Hooker hasn't even taken a pre-season snap. There really hasn't been a lot for the Lions to evaluate.
  6. Can't say I have ever seen someone on the injury report with a tooth.
  7. Goff is also older than those QBs. Goff will be 30 next year so that may factor into the cost. I want to see what happens with Dak. That seems like the best comp.
  8. Goff has elite skills. He's not going to run, or create, or throw from crazy arm angles. He is, however, one of the best in the league off play action, among the best in the league at throwing over the middle, and one of the best in the league when he has a clean pocket. Not just good, best in the league good.
  9. The thing is, Goff already has a big contract. When you look at someone like Herbert, his cap number this year was $8 million and will be $57 million by 2027. That's a $50 million increase. Goff's cap number is already $30 million. Going up to $50 million wouldn't be as much of a shock as going from a rookie contract to $50 million.
  10. Yeah but how much of that top 5 success is really Sean McVay and Todd Gurley?
  11. I certainly wouldn't take the Patriots job over the Lions.
  12. The Lions are the 5th youngest team in the league, have all their draft picks, and no bad contracts on the books. They are in great shape.
  13. I don't understand how these Hamasholes think Joe Biden controls Israel? At the end of the day, Israel is going to do what it wants to do so why aren't they protesting any Israeli embassy?
  14. I have Directv Stream and it is delayed. Usually I'll come here and read TP complaining about Ben Johnson and know a run for no gain must be coming up.
  15. There is no difference in my eyes between Rashida Tliab and MAGA. These Hamasholes have taken over the extreme left. I think it's more like the Tea Party circa 2008 and I hope it doesn't take over the mainstream of the party like the Tea Party.
  16. Holmes drafted so well in 2021 that I think 5 of his 7 draft picks are in line to get guaranteed contracts and two of them market setting contracts.
  17. Lions have a lot of contracts to get done this offseason. Goff, St Brown, Sewell and I would add McNeill. Sewell is the only one with a 5th year option so the others would be free agents. You also have Melifonwu who could be inline for an extension if he plays like he has next year. Barnes has been solid but he's probably the odd man out with Campbell coming up. You may look to keep Barnes and move on from Anzalone. Anzalone is going to be 30 next year.
  18. Goff's entire career with the Rams was outdoors. I think he just ran into superior teams when he lost. He's won in Green Bay twice and once was in January with everything on the line for the Packers.
  19. Win or lose, the Lions will enter next season as legit Super Bowl contenders.
  20. I still need to see Goff prove it without McVay.
  21. I remember the same phenomena happening with the Tigers. In 2006 a Tigers playoff ticket was the hottest thing around. By 2014, it was a fairly easy ticket to get.
  22. The Dak extension is going to be interesting to watch because that is probably the best comp for Goff. Goff already counts for over $30 million on the cap. They will probably do something that is about 4 years and $200-$250 million and ramp up his cap hit.
