  1. I like how people here think overweight people don't know how to lose weight. It's just calorie deficit! No ****.
  2. What I'm "on about here" is that you said losing weight was hard and that people who don't lose weight just don't want it enough. That's when I brought up food addiction and you minimized that, but it's every bit an epidemic as drug and alcohol abuse but fewer resources are available for it. There needs to be a societal shift in the thinking of overweight people and understand that they face the same issues as alcoholics and drug addicts. You don't just go up to an alcoholic and tell them stop drinking. You can offer them detox and rehab. Food addiction is even more challenging because you simply can't stop eating. Nobody ever needed to drink a beer in their life or snort cocaine. They made a conscious choice to do so.
  3. Coach of the year always goes to the team that most surpassed expectations. It's like that in every league. No way OKC surpassed expectations as much as the Pistons surpassed expectations.
  4. It's all so easy. Just drink fewer beers, it will be better for you in the long run. Just do fewer lines of coke, it will be better for you in the long run. You just got to want to make the change.
  5. You don't get anything from Trump without groveling and a little quid pro quo. She should have known that. No other governor got played like that. It only hurts her politically. She was going to have a tough go because there is a deep bench, but this really damaged her.
  6. Now that I think about it, one out of every eight people addicted to food is a lot. That's 13% of the population. 10.2% of the population battled alcohol use in the past year, and 9.7% battled substance abuse. Fentanyl is treated as an epidemic, even so much we have to crash our economy. When more people are addicted to food, it's just quit being lazy.
  7. The average person with a moderate drinking problem, they just need to make a lifestyle shift and stop drinking. Easy enough.
  8. The relevance is that food addiction is not treated the same as people with alcohol and drug addiction as you are demonstrating. People who are overweight are simply lazy whereas as alcoholics and drug addicts are battling demons. Even from your link: “The word addiction may seem strong when it comes to food, but research has shown that our brains respond as strongly to highly processed foods, especially those highest in sugar, simple starches, and fat, as they do to tobacco, alcohol and other addictive substances,” says Gearhardt. This link is only a study of people of over 50. Other studies have as high as 20% of people have a food addiction vs. less than 10% of people addicted to alcohol. If it's simply a lifestyle change, what eating disorders are real then? Anorexia? Just make a lifestyle change and eat more.
  9. I was driving down 12 Mile and there is a house with a flagpole in the front yard and a large American flag. Just underneath the American flag is a flag of Trump raising his fist after being shot at. Tell me this not a cult.
  10. Studies have been done to show that food addiction and binge eating disorders are real. It's a physical, chemical, and emotional reaction to food. Certains foods such as ones high in sugar trigger the same receptors of the brain as alcohol and drugs. You can't just abstain from eating like you can from drinking and doing drugs. To just minimize it as essentially people are lazy is just pure ignorance. On top of that, people cannot just hide food addiction like you can alcoholism or being a drug addict.
  11. I'm calling bull****. What is your source on this? Seven out of eight people are not addicted to alcohol. Seven out of eight are not addicted to drugs. They just need to put in the work depending on how bad they want it.
  12. Does Shapiro now show up wrapped in bandages like a mummy from the burns he suffered in the fire?
  13. Food addiction doesn't get treated the same as alcohol or drug addictions. Imagine telling an alcoholic to just drink less period, and by the way, you still need to have three drinks per day, no more no less.
  14. Trump has been silent.
  15. She was harmed. If she tries to run for president, every Dem in the primary will be showing the picture of her trying to hide in the Oval Office.
  16. LOL you don't just get something from Trump. If Trump gives you anything, there is definitely a quid pro quo. How did she end up being the only governor played like that? Whitmer was governor during COVID when Trump was president and Michigan needed resources from the federal government and she didn't get made a fool like that. BTW, did she actually get anything for Michigan?
  17. Martin O'Malley ran in the 2016 primary and was at one time considered a serious contender. "Finally outrun Bernie" by leading Sanders from the beginning. He simply wouldn't go away. By the way, Bernie Sanders is not a Democrat. He makes that clear. He is only a Democrat when he wants to be president. He then loses, says it's rigged, and promptly leaves the party.
  18. The issue isn't that people think Whitmer turned MAGA, it's that she went to DC looking to negotiate with someone who doesn't negotiate in good faith and got absolutely played. It shows terrible judgement.
  19. Other people not including immigrants though.
  20. How much resources did the party put into Biden vs the other candidates? Put a number on it because Biden was broke heading into South Carolina and closing offices. Elizabeth Warren's people were even bringing coffins to his campaign.
  21. Why didn't the voters rally around Bernie Sanders then? Klobuchar and Buttigieg got out because they knew they had no path. Literally two candidates left the trail at the same time. Klobuchar never finished above 3rd. Buttigieg was in the lead but was getting killed in the black vote. He was never going to win.
