  1. I was thinking the same thing especially since a guy like Ray Agnew would satisfy the Rooney rule. Agnew also has front office experience with the Rams. I think teams will eventually start to come for the Lions front office.
  2. I'm not sure why Harbaugh didn't get an NFL job after he left the 49ers. I'm not sure why Meyer, Kingsbury, Ruhle all got jobs ahead of Harbaugh. For some reason either NFL teams don't want him or he hasn't seen a job he wanted. To be honest I would rather have Harbaugh than Payton.
  3. Mike McDaniel is another young coach with only one year as offensive coordinator. Did McDaniel even call plays in San Francisco?
  4. Zac Taylor spent part of one season in the NFL as an interim offensive coordinator under Dan Campbell and on the same staff as Ben Johnson and that was four years before he got hired by the Bengals. He was Jared Goff's QB coach. Teams want the next hot shot offensive guru.
  5. Has a Lions coordinator ever been hired by another team as a head coach? Like while they were still a Lions coordinator? I remember Terryl Austin got a little attention but I don't think a Lions coordinator was ever a hot candidate.
  6. Dan Campbell had zero coordinator experience and Vrabel had one year of coordinator experience. These teams theoretically aren't going to have openings next year except for Houston so it's either take the chance on hiring the next McVay or let some other team do it next year.
  7. If Goff played for the Bears this year, he would have set the single season team record in passing yards, QB rating and tied the single season record in TDs. Bears suck.
  8. I think it's Chicago who should tank for Caleb Williams. They can trade out of 1 and have ammunition to move up next year. I see a lot of Bears fans are happy with Fields but he's one of the worst passers. I don't get it.
  9. Lions are in a good position at 6. Either there will be a run on QBs and the Lions will have their choice of top defenders in the draft, or they will be able to trade back and acquire multiple picks. There really doesn't seem to be a downside. It's like Holmes 1st draft where Sewell slid down to 7.
  10. Aaron Glenn's replacement.
  11. I'm all for a trade down. Give Holmes more picks. I used to be one of those who felt 5th and 6th round picks were expendable but then Holmes went and drafted Rodriguez and Houston in the 6th round so I even encourage picking up late round picks.
  12. I hope Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn get head coaching jobs. Good teams have their coordinators hired by other teams and good coaches having a coaching tree. I want a Dan Campbell coaching tree. Good teams develop new coaches. Do you think Andy Reid cares when teams come for his coaches? The Lions should have coordinators in waiting in case Johnson and Glenn get hired.
  13. I would move on from Vaitai and address the position in free agency or the draft.
  14. Lions have two 6th round picks and I would take a long look at a kicker. I don't think Holmes is the type to draft a kicker but I don't think Badgely is the answer.
  15. Alex Smith and the Chiefs get mentioned a lot, but one Goff is simply better than Smith, Mahomes was drafted when Smith was 33, and KC traded a 2nd round pick for Smith when he was 29.
  16. The very next game after that one for Goff and the Rams? Against the Lions where the Lions defense actually held up well. Only completed 51% of his passes and had 1 TD and 1 INT for a 68 QB rating. I remember Belichick crediting that game for how they played Goff in the Super Bowl. Goff was even worse the following week against Chicago throwing for 0 TDs and 4 INTs and a 19 QB rating. Honestly, Goff hasn't really quite been the same after that KC game until this season.
  17. Lame, now you change the post. What a tool.
  18. Bullshit. You read the whole thing because you took the time to quote me. You have nothing to dispute so you go back to your shitposting.
  19. Over 50 yards in the air, off his back foot, rolling left, throwing across the field, defender in his face, on the road, in the cold, perfect strike, lacks arm strength though. Bonus coverage of Goff throwing over 60 yards in the air on the road in the cold https://www.detroitlions.com/video/highlight-goff-unleashes-56-yard-bomb-to-raymond Goff is also one of the more accurate deep throwers. Goff finishes the season 5th in TDs, 5th in QBR, 6th in yards, 7th in QB rating. That QBR and QB rating is higher than Josh Allen. Lions offense is 5th in the league in PPG. When the running game started to decline and they leaned on the passing game more, Goff got better which blows a whole in the narrative of only being successful when he has an elite run game. The system QB is now a top 10 QB in two different systems. This team has a 28 year old top 10 QB. They don't need a QB. Not sure what else Goff needs to do.
  20. If Russell Wilson is healthy there would be incentive to try to get him going. The Broncos defense is still really good so I think they can win that one.
  21. At least I'm not bringing up shit from five years ago like an angry girlfriend.
