Brown is the only Democrat to win statewide office in Ohio in the past decade. He won on the same ballot that Mike DeWine won on. I don't think any socialist attacks will stick. He seems to be able to thread the needle with progressives and moderates. Ironically, all the talk about getting younger, Brown will be 72 by the 2024 election.

They would say that even if Joe Manchin won the Democratic nomination. I think Sherrod Brown would make a great candidate at the national level. I would have to see his breakdown in Ohio. Does he do well in Cleveland or is he like Klobuchar who over performs in rural Minnesota but is so-so in Minneapolis? Could also nominate Tim Ryan who has similar Sherrod Brown qualities. His run for senate will be a good barometer on whether he is viable or not.

I also forgot Michelle Lujan-Grisham. She checks off the female and Hispanic boxes. Duckworth wasn't born in the US and I don't believe her mother was a US citizen at the time of her birth. I think her eligibility could legitimately get questioned. No need to wade in those waters.

If it isn't Joe Biden, then the Democrats will need someone who checks boxes. I don't know if Buttigieg's homosexuality trumps (no pun intended) not being female or a minority. Sherrod Brown is a heterosexual white male so he is out. Klobuchar is not well received by the black community. Whitmer is intriguing. She does seem to be well liked by the black community. She checks the female box but not the minority box which may or may not hurt. She also has the Michigan accent you like so much.

How about Joe Biden who got the most votes in history?

Unless Biden is dead, he's running again. Incumbents, despite Trump's loss, always have an advantage.

I thought Republicans holding a Supreme Court seat hostage would be enough to get Millennials out but I was wrong. Millennials will have to deal with a conservative Supreme Court for most of their adult life now. Sorry, not counting on them anymore.

I hope to hell we aren't relying on Millennials to vote.

Speaking of Reggie Brown, I remember reading recently how Willie Clay Ford helped set him up with his own Ford dealership after his NFL career was over. Brown went on to become a successful dealership owner.
