  1. Then they don't get two first round picks.
  2. Except Tua was considered the top QB and it would have been more likely Tua was drafted. If they did draft a QB and trade Stafford, they would have gotten a lot worse return. There is also no way of assuming that Sheila firing Quinn would have led to the Lions drafting a QB most people had 2nd.
  3. How exactly is 2020 costing them?
  4. and I'll stand by that I think what you think is ridiculous.
  5. Seems a little ridiculous to assume someone is not up to the job based on the timing of firing management before she had actual authority to do so and then assume everything done afterwards means nothing.
  6. The initial post was that she should have fired Quinn prior to the 2020 draft. She was not in charge at that time.
  7. Right but she didn't take over until after the draft and free agency and basically just before the preseason.
  8. That was the 2021 draft. Gehringer was talking prior to the 2020 draft which was in March and Sheila took over in June. The decision to fire your GM should come no later than season end.
  9. Maybe, but Sheila didn't have the final say at that point.
  10. Well, Sheila didn't take over until after the draft and she did fire everybody and hired proven talent evaluators.
  11. Since the return of shopping carts was discussed here, someone at Meijer did return their cart but emptied all their garbage in it.
  12. My father worked at Ford and worked more overtime during the Clinton administration than at any other time during his career. His job was lost long after he retired because his job became automated and not lost to Mexico.
  13. I don't ever plan to stop social distancing. I'm enjoying it.
  14. I opened the account with sofi. I'll see how the $500 does before I dump more money on it. On the individual stock, I invested a lot in weed. Weed has never let me done before.
  15. I had been putting a portion of my pay in a savings account. That is only accruing 0.55% interest. I have well over 6 months in savings so I wanted to contribute now to something that will earn a larger return than 0.55%. I took $1,000 for now and put $500 in a mutual fund and the other $500 in individual stocks. I wanted to see my return before I risked more money. I have no idea when I should buy or sell stocks. I bought relative safe companies but only small shares for now. The mutual fund I set up is more conservative with investments in more bonds than stocks.
  16. Decided to bring the investing thread over to this forum since I started my first foray into investing. I'm pretty low risk and conservative when it comes to investing. I opened up a managed investment account and started buying some individual stocks. The first stock I bought of course was a weed company. Next I bought Merck since they make the dewormer everyone is taking. All told I spent only $500 on individual stocks. So far they have collectively lost $0.50 and it's still bothering me. I probably won't spend much more on individual stocks and spend more on my managed account since I don't want to get in over my head. I'll leave it to the experts to chime in with their investing advice.
  17. I like the mobile version of this site better. On the old forum, if I were in the Lions forum there wasn't a quick way to get back to the main forum page. On this site, I just have to tap the top banner.
  18. Funny how mail in voting was never a problem when Republicans used it and then in 2020 Democrats started using it and it suddenly becomes an issue.
  19. Quick, while the forum is working, everyone needs to copy and paste all of their posts over here so we don't lose them again.
  20. For someone who claims they are about facts, you sure do like to dabble in conspiracy theories.
  21. I mean, let's not forget it also took an NFL record 66 yard kick and a missed delay of game penalty.
  22. Green Bay also lost 38-3 to the Saints.
