With so many coaches getting second chances, I'm surprised Fontes or Scwartz didn't get a second chance. Say what you will about Fontes, but the Lions were competitive under him and had their best stretch of football in the Super Bowl era under him until Dan Campbell. Schwartz took an 0-16 team and got them to 10 wins and the playoffs in 3 seasons. His issues were maturity which is something you can learn and grow from. He's been a successful coordinator with multiple teams since leaving the Lions. Caldwell left with a winning record, but unless you are elite, you generally don't get a third chance. An argument could be made for Mariucci. Give him a mulligan for working under Millen. Bobby Ross coached a team to a Super Bowl, but when the coach quits on the team, that probably ends your career.
