  1. For unemployment I have to do this whole charade of registering with MI WORKS, and wouldn't you know, the MI WORKS office is in the same building as John James office. I decided to swing by and of course the lazy backbencher closed his office today.
  2. You got me. Trump's ability to turn the US into a Central American dictatorship stopped immigration. Those elite Dems wanted the US to continue to prosper.
  3. Fantastic, all Democrats have to do is tell Hispanics what do they have to lose. I mean, Dems are better. Hispanics voted for this. Trump made his intentions very clear. He's not actually doing anything about the border. He's just rounding up Hispanics in border states such as *check notes* Maryland and Massachusetts. They get what they voted for.
  4. Biden literally negotiated a bipartisan border bill supported by border patrol and Republicans nixed it. Border crossings were down. Hispanics voted for Trump because they didn't think they would be affected. The Venezuelans in Miami didn't think they would be affected. Half of the border states voted for Harris anyways. In fact, she won more border counties than Trump did. When do Republicans ever appeal to urban cities? Trump attacked Detroit and says they cheat on the election. No one ever tells Republicans so change their messaging to inner cities. There's no news safari to a barbershop on 7 Mile asking why they support Harris. It's a double standard and voters have no agency. They were told this was going to happen. It was literally in writing.
  5. You have to admit, Trump was pretty good at messaging to Hispanics. He said they were all murderers and rapist from a floating island of garbage who are poisoning the blood of Americans and they are eating all the dogs and cats and must be deported immediately. How would you not vote for that?
  6. I think he’s dead.
  7. I knew this little **** was trouble.
  8. You know this is serious when I email John James about Trump defying the Supreme Court and disappearing US citizens and he responds right away without mentioning his support for Trump.
  9. That's exactly what it does. It reduces your addiction to food. It's basically a nicotine patch for food. Imagine if there was a drug that could reduce alcohol dependency. Calorie deficit "strategy" is how you lose weight but not how you maintain weight. You don't run a calorie deficit the rest of your life. These drugs have shown that not only can they treat people to lose weight but also maintain a lower weight. They aren't just easily available to anyone who wants them. In order to get them, you must have a certain BMI and at least one co-morbidity related to weight.
  10. Ozempic isn't even the one commonly being prescribed for weight loss. There are, however, GLP-1's that are FDA approved and clinical trials have been done. Long term affects are known since these drugs have been used to treat diabetes. People who take a GLP-1 aren't looking for an easy way out.
  11. When I was in high school, the Atkins low carb diet was all the rage. I worked at Burger King, and they got in on it by creating the low carb Whopper. It was just a Whopper without a bun. You put the patty and the topping in a bowl and that was it. It actually sold fairly well.
  12. I am. I don't need your permission.
  13. The US also has one of the highest opioid addiction rates in the world. It's access to opioids which is prevalent in the US, and also access to addictive foods like highly processed foods.
  14. Absolutely. I'll remember this then when people talk about the Fentanyl epidemic in Appalachia. They simply got to put in the work. Sorry.
  15. I like how people here think overweight people don't know how to lose weight. It's just calorie deficit! No ****.
  16. What I'm "on about here" is that you said losing weight was hard and that people who don't lose weight just don't want it enough. That's when I brought up food addiction and you minimized that, but it's every bit an epidemic as drug and alcohol abuse but fewer resources are available for it. There needs to be a societal shift in the thinking of overweight people and understand that they face the same issues as alcoholics and drug addicts. You don't just go up to an alcoholic and tell them stop drinking. You can offer them detox and rehab. Food addiction is even more challenging because you simply can't stop eating. Nobody ever needed to drink a beer in their life or snort cocaine. They made a conscious choice to do so.
