  1. USC Notre Dame LSU Oregon Auburn Miami Tennessee Wisconsin Washington What do all of these big time programs that are serious about winning have in common? They all had a head coach opening during the time that Urban has been available. None even bothered to do so much as an interview. Hell, not even Nebraska interviewed him.
  2. USC wouldn’t touch Urban (twice). I can’t imagine that Michigan would. He’s a proven winner but there is just so much baggage.
  3. I haven’t really been watching too much this season but have been following Pistons scores. I couldn’t believe they were giving up 118 a game and I was blown to see that wasn’t even worst in the league. There are 13 teams allowing more than 115 a night. Crazy.
  4. I’m not sure how long you’ve believed this story but it’s not true.
  5. New Orleans still owns his rights and they will have to be compensated. Based on past deals of this type it would include multiple picks including a first rounder for any team to hire him.
  6. I apologize to the UM fans here for that picture. It even made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.
  7. Shock the world, Warde!
  8. That seems to be the most likely move to make.
  9. Not sure what they do. From a human standpoint, you can’t make these teams play anytime soon. From just a football standpoint, it’s not fair to the rest of the AFC to declare a tie. That would essentially count as a half win for each team instead of a loss and have a huge impact on seeding and standings.
  10. This is the NFL. They’ve done some shady shit in the past to protect their interests. Nothing stops the money from flowing. Not head trauma, CTE, and now cardiac arrest. Expect them to do their thing and it will come out that Demar had undetected heart issues and this is an individual issue and not an NFL issue. He and his family will be well compensated for their cooperation and silence.
  11. Generational talent
  12. They should give him a raise and make him the highest paid coach in the conference. It’s a sign of respect that he’s earned. Still, the money itself won’t keep him. The NFL can always pay more. They will keep calling. There aren’t many available coaches with his past level of NFL success. Teams would be dumb not to try and tempt him. The biggest thing they can do is make adjustments to allow him to get the players and top assistants that he needs to consistently win. It appears they are making adjustments based on the recent transfers in from places like Nebraska and Coastal Carolina. I expect they will also continue to develop a robust NIL program as the grey area around university involvement begins to get more clear in the coming year. FWIW, he still fucked up the clock management at the end of the TCU game.
  13. Also as a former math professor, Santa should sit down with him and go over end game time management strategies.
  14. I’ve never seen anything more horrifying than soccer player Christian Eriksen collapsing on the field at Euro 2021. He was able to make to a full recovery after needing CPR on the field. Hopes and prayers the same is true for Damar Hamlin.
  15. PFF scores on a play by play basis and adds up at the end. It’s very possible to make 3 great plays and still score lower than someone who makes no impact plays. It also appears that Analzone was so bad that he didn’t even register despite playing more plays than any other LB.
  16. On the subject of Swift. I think people underrate what he’s been able to accomplish. I get where it comes from. He shows flashes of talent that could make him one of the top RB in the league but frustratingly lacks consistency which is not uncommon with a 3rd year player. He also has the tag of a guy that can’t stay healthy because he’s missed time each year. The reality is he’s scored 25 TD in under 3 seasons. He’s also played in at least 13 games every season. Despite missing time this year, he’s very close again to 1000 AP yards. He’s lost 3 fumbles in 3 years. These are great numbers for a young player especially one drafted outside the 1st round.
  17. I think your expectations for 3rd and 4th round RB are very off. Reynolds when healthy and Jackson have both been fine in that limited role. It’s not that important of a position to waste early draft capital to fill a 4th string RB. There are so many capable street free agents that can fill this role. I am hoping they will re-sign Williams. As I said a bunch of times, If they don’t resign him that will change things greatly and it will become a need worth drafting after round 1. This team still has so many more important needs: Multiple CB DT LB G Backup S Backup OT Backup QB 5th string WR Kicker 4th string RB
  18. Not even a slight exaggeration. They still may take RB in the top 3 rounds. We need to see how they choose to handle their enormous depth of RB talent in the offseason staring with what they do with Williams.
  19. They absolutely value talent and have proven to be damn good at it. They also value position scarcity. RB has unfortunately become a dime a dozen position. The shelf life is small and you can find useful players in the later rounds. They also tend to get hit the most of any other position and are more of an injury risk. They doubled down on WR and DL because they are just harder players to find and evaluate and you need to play more of them. If we had a different system like a Pittsburgh or Baltimore, there’s probably more of an interest to think RB earlier but again there are so many options that it’s not necessary.
  20. Agree 100%. I think they will let him play next season and make this decision either during or after the year. I’d hope they don’t offer him an extension this off season but I also wouldn’t put that past them. RB depth is a must have in the league. They have it in spades right now. They have a decision to make on Jamaal but I think they find a way to keep him on a nice deal. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them add a back later on and maybe as early as round 3 but I don’t think thats a given. There are other areas that need additional depth. I could see this getting pushed up if they let JW go but I don’t see 1st round. There just isn’t value taking RB that high especially in our system. FWIW, they still like Reynolds, who has been injured and allowed Jackson to move up to RB3. It is very possible that they don’t make any moves in the RB room but I tend to think they will add someone because as you said there are so options available in later draft rounds and free agency.
  21. I don’t believe the front office thinks this way and that’s who matters.
  22. One thing that did get eliminated today was the chances of the Lions drafting Bijan Robinson or any other RB in the early rounds. This was the Swift they hoped to see and he delivered.
  23. It seems likely that the GB game gets flexed into either Saturday or Sunday prime time.
