It will be a battle between Philippines or Belarus

I don’t pretend to understand the NBA’s ridiculously complex financial system. Seeing a lot of veterans sign $6 - $10M per year when it seemed like just a few years back everyone who could breathe got at least $10M

Has Mark Stone been put on LTIR yet?

I’m not on him for not competing for cups but he’s been unable to even get them in the playoffs. Every other GM that is still around from 2019 has either made the cup or had multiple playoff runs. His results are unprecedentedly bad in the league. Nobody ever talks about the coaches. I’m of the opinion that he kept Blashill on for too long. IMHO, He really should’ve changed coaches when he first got the job. He definitely should’ve fired him at least a year earlier than he did. Hiring Lalonde was also terrible mistake. The wrong guy that set the plan back more. Stevie takes very little heat for these coaching moves and I’m not sure why.
-
The fans are bitching because almost anyone else would’ve been fired by now. He was hired in 2019. It shouldn’t take this long to just make the playoffs a single time.

FWIW, Suter/Parise had less to do with the Wings and more to do with being sold the dream to come back home and make NHL hockey matter in Minnesota

I could be wrong but I don’t buy that Detroit is now an undesirable destination. I think it’s a convenient excuse used to defend an incompetent front office. It’s not what it was in the heyday but it’s not Calgary or Buffalo. It’s a middle of the road organization with very high upside in the future. A competent GM could sell the vision that it’s a talented young team that’s right at opening its window to be a playoff team every year.
-
I’m not sure the inference. Are you saying that Stevie is making strong offers and FA aren’t interested in coming because the Red Wings aren’t a destination anymore?

Gavrikov would be perfect as a left shot, defense first, that plays the top pairing opposite Seider. LA has more cap space and wants him back but his agent wants to see if he can get someone to go above market on him. NYR and LA are still in it with him. It will take a massive ransom for the Wings to land him and I don’t see Stevie Chair Hands doing that.

This teams offers a lot to be exited about if you are big on a 10 year plans and enjoy waiting on prospects to develop. It also helps if you are part Swedish.

This looks so sus. He’s calling for the ball and giving his all for a bucket in a meaningless situation.

Betting on Lanier 3 point props may be Beasley’s only source of NBA income for a while.
-
Great timing for the Pistons. Not so much for Propsley.
-
Strong day from Lando. Tough one for Max. 31 race point streak is over.
-
Wouldn’t surprise if this was the biggest move of the offseason.
-
I expect him be really good for 2 seasons and then unexpectedly turn to complete dog water for seasons 3 and 4.
-
Fingers crossed they have Alan Ruck announce the pick wearing the Gordie Howe jersey
-
Have to assume he’s high on the Wings list as Stevie has a boner for hometown kids.

I want to see JK play a manager in a baseball movie. It would be sacrilegious to redo The Natural but it’s Hollywood so they probably will. He’d be perfect in the Wilfred Brimley role.

I’m necessarily taking about any specific Tiger prospect but it seems like we may need to change expectations on what constitutes rushed up. 5 players picked in the top 15 in last years draft are already in the majors with less than a full year of minor league ball. 9 players from the first round are already up from 2023 draft. Granted these are all college drafted players but the world is definitely changing. The time needed to season up prospects in the minors has been sped up.

Those speculated names are nice but our next Fed Chair is definitely coming from Fox Business Channel.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but CB Bucknor at 1B tonight means he’s behind the plate tomorrow. I am already frustrated.
-
He knows what he has to do. The Knuckle Curve needs to be better. He’s been dominant when he’s just off the plate with it. The past couple starts it’s been so far short of the plate that nobody is even thinking about hacking. It puts him behind in the count and makes his fastball and slider much more hittable.

The politics of Gaza shouldn’t have anything to do with the mayoral race in NYC. The immigrant population of the city is a heavy majority Caribbean and South American. They don’t care about it. The constituents that care are the large Jewish population and they are on the opposing side of the issue from Mamdani. He’s taken a personal issue and made a large talking point against his campaign policy. This is a problem for him that shouldn’t exist. He’s got to find a way to move completely off Gaza and not make it any issue moving forward. That’s going to be hard to do since the right will be doing everything they can to keep it on the front page.

So good to have Joe D back in the league. I’m not sure why they made this hire usually leads to not sure why he made this move.
